Pre-order starts next month - Next Crestline Avinox frame set

XO wasn't any better with shifting consistency; it often needed resetting for no apparent reason. I could only guess why??? XX has been flawless for 9+ months.

To keep it short, the GX has 2 very well-known issues: pogo pins breaking (I didn't experience this) and play in the frame mount causing inconsistent and rough shifting. XO wasn't any better with shifting consistency; it often needed resetting for no apparent reason. I could only guess why??? XX has been flawless for 9+ months. I've read reviews on all sides so YMMV, but have you seen how Rob is running his bars/stem these days... do you really trust a guy that likes that setup!?!?!?!? 😉

Transmission / Shimano's XT or whatever is on the installed is the weak link on bikes at the moment.

The absolute weak point / achilles heal. Shifting is good until you take a tiny rock glance to the jockey wheel cage and then it'll throw a gear out slightly. You likely wont even notice that you've hit it - but Its ridiculously close to the ground. Its the worst part on the bike and I look forward to the day that its replaced for something better (a refined MGU ideally).

Regarding the difference between X0 and XX, you're looking at noticing nothing more than silver bling on the XX, a few grams of weight difference, the rotating jockey wheel for a twig, and a lot less in your wallet.

Its a classic good / better / best product lineup, but fundamentally theres such miniscule differences between XX and X0 derailiieuer that in 1000 blind tests you'd end up guesssing a 50/50 in which one is which. You'd never tell.

GX and XX / X0 have more fundamental build differences, but its still the same electronics that actually do the shifting.

Cage from X0 after men’s DH in Finale Ligure 2 weeks ago. €99 to replace just that cage.

I like how the battery is protected with GX.

A buddy broke the tab hole for the battery on his XO and Its the one part of the derailleur you can not buy and replace. He currently zip ties the battery on and his reasoning is he can buy several batteries over a whole new derailleur.

SRAM refused to warranty it per usual. I actually have never heard of SRAM covering anyone's warranty that has had an issue with one of their products.

I'm still debating going to the cable transmission; or maybe Shimano, because Shimano is just fucking better in every way.

Love the GX AXS Transmission Drivetrain. Currently have 3,300 miles on the original chain, chainring and cassette and still going strong.

I know the autoshift is a big selling point for people, but for reliability and weight I’ve been happy with a xx1 11sp, very light, short cage, and haven’t been in a situation where I have missed a 50tooth cog.

I was going to go with a slx 12 sp but found my freehub wasn’t compatible with the newer deg hubs so that’s how i ended up throwing on a old 11sp setup i had, turned into a happy little accident lol. Honestly I’ll probably just replace the cassette with a gx 11sp when it wears out, still plenty light and not that bad price wise.

Here is a breakdown of the XX,XO, and GX per SRAM, they dont list the weight since they are all so close to each other.

Comes down to materials used and the colors for the most part, but what about that water proofing note for XX and XO?

Either way, try to find a website doing a promo to save some dough on these whatever you do! I got my full XO kit for 20% off which brought it close to GX price range.

I like to save weight, and dollars too!

They’re the old ones 👊

I have the same debate, to has coast shifting or not…
Btw I hear the xx 1195 cassette don’t handle ebike torque well…. But would love a short cage derailleur.

You are right, this is not what I have purchased and sitting in a box next to me!!

Damn SRAM website and naming schemas.. :ROFLMAO:

Eagle, or maybe an Eagle, if not there's is always the Eagle?!

I was today years old when I realized Srams model numbers represent how many cogs and tier……. 1195, 11spd xo1….. 1299, 12spd xx1
The more you know

Sounds like you're talking old AXS though not T-type? The mounting hardware across the T-type range looks quite identical other than the color. I'd also bet the pogo pins as well as the rest of the guts are also the same hence why I wasn't willing to fork out double for the "upgrade."

Damn it Troydon! Let me at least have my bike before you make me jealous of your next new bike! 🤣🤣🤣

I'm lost on the dropper discussion for RH3 frame. For 5'11 rider and OneUp V3 dropper, is the move 180 or 210?
Like @PhoS said unless you have a big inseam 180, 210 is going to have too much post sticking out. I’m 5’10 using a pnw loam 175, i liked the silver post, otherwise i generally go oneup 180. I tried to put a 200 transfer on my old bullit and it was a no go. And im on a rh3

I haven't had any issues, about ~450 miles on the bike with it plus it wasn’t new anyway. As far as i know the older 11sp stuff wasn’t touted to be able to shift under load, so I don’t go ham on my shifting. Treat it nice and so far so good.

I assume the ‘regular’ black 181.2 share the same coating? Look sick! Cant wait!

This carbon layup is called forged carbon and this rs edition is called "Forge Series"... so I'm guessing it's a different weave from the plaid raw carbon.

Similar-esque depending how the light hits it maybe, bringing out some carbon details?

Looking damn sexy either way!!

The forged carbon has been all the rage in the car scene for a couple years. Very flashy but personally I'll stick with the tinted clear. The dh links are intriguing , I bet that thing eats.

Does anyone have any info on changes to the kinematics vs original Crestline eeb? Noticed the change to trunnion from the OG, maybe some leverage changes?

Anyone got any insight into actual ship dates yet? Couple weeks away now so presumably shipping dates should start to firm up!?

Don’t forget about crank length.

The shorter your cranks, the longer the dropper can be.

I’d bet most RH3 folks could run a 210 with cranks shorter than 165 unless you’re very weirdly shaped with super short legs and a long torso. But then an RH4 would probably fit you better anyway since the reach would match the long torso.

I think with short cranks, an SQLabs saddle & the Wolf Tooth dropper, you could run 200mm drop.
Same as any bike really at 5'11".

I use SRAM 11sp on my Relay and on my incoming Wild I'm going to run the SRAM 11sp combined with the WheelTop electronic derailleur.

I had 150 cranks initially, sized up to 160. Still couldn’t run longer than 180 post. The issue is the longer post insertion, if the post insertion length was the same i could run a 200, but when you have the added length on both ends you can’t insert it far enough.

Also full builds available on crestline site 👀
