Atherton S170.E Dyf-E bike coming soon...

Here's to hoping that they skip that large downtube pipe for a soft rectangular form, like on this bike, not to mention CF tubing like the A-Series:

Don’t hold your breath for carbon tubes in the S series aluminium machinings as galvanic corrosion is a major issue unless the two materials can be completely isolated from each other.

This is correct, no information available on motor or Battery size , weight etc, before April launch. Other than it will be sufficient.
Rumors say 700 and 900wh that weigh the same as current 600 and 800. But, I don't see how a standard dji battery fits in the Atherton tube.

3rd YT video due today/tomorrow?

Video 1 of 3 - December 23rd

Ah, that must be the same as what the new Anflow has then, I am aware that it may have improved battery power from a smaller size.

The point was that the downtube was soft-edge rectangular and not as much about the material being CF. I'm sure Dedicated has plexiglass layers at the joints, full anodization, and heavy bonding glues to beat galvanic corrosion down.

I hope not, I doubt very much the 800wh will for in the atherton. Plus dji seem against an extender. If it is 600wh, I fear they will get a lot of cancelled orders
They'll still sell them all, it may just be a week or more of re-selling the pre-orders. The Athertons will sell on more than just a battery sizing.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on other options. Pointless getting an ebike that has less range than your current one. I know a lot of people that wouldn't go an ebike with a 600wh battery with no option of a range extender.

The fact they make a big selling point that their small size can use the same battery size as their large size makes me think it won't be 600

From what I was told by the AMflow dealer I use, it’s that DJI etc have embargo on the tech and battery etc on this new MK2 Motor until April. Taking into account the 1st bikes have to be paid for next week it looks that way, for now at least.
So it's payment in advance for a bike with an unknown battery specification and capacity. Hmmm 🤔

cant speak for atherton but the druid/dreadnaught core v2 with m2 has 600/800wh options only.
Wheres that detailed? Would be surprised if they are advertising that but everyone else under embargo

Not sure but I'm hoping it's more like 800Wh than 600Wh, Everyone seems to be talking about the MoliCell batteries which are 6000mAh or 6500mAh each. So that would be 666Wh or 720Wh if it's 3S, 888Wh or 960Wh for 4s. MoliCell say the 6000Ah is ideally suited to the peak amps required by emtbs. Unless it's a lower power motor I guess it's more likely to be 666 or 888. I doubt 4S will fit so I'd bet 666Wh

Perhaps they customized the battery to fit in a round tube. Four 21700 batteries fit within an inner circumference of 54mm, 700mm long, and if grouped in sets of five, they reach 59mm.

No idea on reliability, but seems to fit what I have heard
