A lot depends on how well the bike is built up from what I hear. I have dropped my bike in a lake under water for 5 mins and it still works fine. I was told by the shop that supply my bike that the Motor is designed to withstand 20 mins under 3 ft of water. That's 100% not true. DJI offered a very favourable deal to go with them. Bosch have long been the most reliable motor.
I got one of the first wave of atherton bikes for delivery in April. The only thing making me think twice is DJI reliability. Everyone I know with one, has had issues. Then also had problems with long waits on parts. I'm really hoping the gen 2 motor work es these issues. If not, will cancel and go with a yeti lte. Had one for two weeks and it was an amazing bike.
One mate has had two speen sensors replacing. One took 3 weeks to come in stock. Another had a new motor. Another has had a new display as water for into it. Speed sensor and controller issues are pretty common. Even on this forum.
Having ridden both Bosch and DJI the Bosch to me is the nicer motor. I'm putting a lot of faith in athertons that the new motor won't get these issues. I don't care about anything over 80nm. I always detune every motor I ride.
We will soon find out. But the reason I never went with a DJI 1st Gen motor was the issues with them I have seen with my own eyes on friends bikes.
