New CEF69 bafang m510 and bafang m560 and cef50 bafang m820 frames

I don't know what your all worried about.

So i tried the offset busing the first sleeve doenst fit, so 22.8 Bushing from offsett bushings is not right for x2.

I do think 29" will make a difference thats worst case, But x2 is popular shock and the 26 model is bigger can by 2mm.

I think the factory x will be fine as that body doesn't move unlike mostly other big shocks, Vivid never fit etc.

Any ideas i give them ago, only way i see it from manufacture is they need to change frame design by few mm, Jean has these photo's

Happy Sunday Joys of DIY and first to things.

Edit:- I need Bushing tool to put plastic sleeve in shock so i think i have one somewhere try again with offsett buhing

The photo below is with 29” on a small. It’s the same no matter if 27.5 or 29” rear wheel. I have tested both. This issue seems to be frame size specific for some reason. Small frame (in this photo) clears a float x and as you get bigger this space gets closer and closer.

Did my first real ride today. Despite the few build challenges I couldn't be happier. The frame feels and rides great. I'm very happy with the choice of M510 motor for the riding I like to do. For reference I weigh about 245lb/ 112kg and I didn't feel like I was lacking power at all. I kept it in tour mode almost the entire ride since the higher modes felt like too much added torque and it was hard to keep traction in the loose areas. Super quick ride of just about 10 miles and only used 14% battery so no issues there. I'm looking forward to getting a long ride in soon and really seeing what the range looks like.

For reference, this was my shock fitment solution. Also did the 2-washer stack above the shock eye and this clears on the large frame.

My guess is the size has everything to do with it. The frame linkage/shock path of travel would be the same for the 60 and 65mm strokes up until the last 5mm. I'm definitely interested in hearing what other people's experiences are like on the different frame sizes.
I deleted a couple of my earlier posts as I now agree with you. The size of the frame seems to be the issue.

Can you show us how much clearance this method yielded on your large frame? Someone posted an earlier photo but it’s at an angle and hard to tell how much daylight it created. Tia

The engineer of this company has a great sense of humor. It's been several years since the release of the CEF50 and CEF49 V1.0 frames. How many times can you make the same mistakes in frame design?

See when i get Offset Bushing mounted i can just use the 2 spaces up top, So you could buy standard Bushing from Offset bushings then you have more room then stock Fox Bushings

I'll get it fitted soon maybe today.

I don't think i wanna run a rear fender but has anyone of you found a clean-ish solution for a rock guard in the rear linkage part, not a good time if a rock gets lodged in there. This is a pic of an amflow online and it looks pretty clean, not sure if its stock.

All fited with the Spacers up top, There is enough clearance now but i dont like not havint a washing underneath, what wear out first so might rethink that, you guys be judge

Hi, on the Cef 50 I solved it like this: a small piece of plastic cut to size, shaped with an industrial hair dryer and glued with double-sided tape.

Beautiful, congratulations, how much does this build weigh?
What size?

I’m new to this but imo this is a pretty big miss. At least we have a community here to find some solutions. If you get a small 69 it will take a fox float x with no modification. If you have a medium 69 it is super close and may require moving shock bushing spacers. A large requires modification no matter what. The only piggy back I could find that is thinner than the fox is a Mara pro piggie back which will net you around an addt 3mm of clearance. The thing is (someone correct me if I’m wrong) but only the fox shocks have the ability to move the spacers around. So if you go with any other shocks I think you are hosed with a large frame. Your only option with a large is a fox float x and move the spacers. Others lmk where I am wrong here.
You can move bushing spacers on any shock so brand shouldn’t matter. They all use the same inner diameter so mounting parts should be mostly interchangeable. Just eyeballing the extremely popular super deluxe, it doesn’t have the same protrusion of the evol chamber and will likely have more clearance than float x.

If you have a 3D printer, you can print a custom-fit cover from TPU filament and attach it with double-sided tape.

I noticed you have another file for a cable grommet in the rear linkage, i dont have a 3d printer but i can get someone to print for me. Thanks for sharing it.

I guess this is the most active CEF69 topic. Mine is due to be shipped!

I am gathering parts.

CEF69 Size M in Gentle Violet.
Bafang M560RS
835Wh battery
Fox 170mm 38 fork
Fox 205mm*65 rear shock
10S Cues drivetrain
Magura MT5 brakes and 203mm discs
DTSwiss EX1700 Spline 30mm wheel set
2.4" Continental Kryptotal Enduro tires

Exited to put it all together!

I ordered an M frame as it seems to be much alike my analog Scott MTB, that fits me well. I am 1m70. How tall are you guys and what frame do you run?
Curious about the dropper post. SSZ suggested a 150mm. I wonder if a 180mm would fit.

Nice parts, might i suggest linkglide drivetrain instead? Its really affordable and ive heard its pretty durable for emtb use.

I only paid 148€ total for xt linkglide derailleur, 11 speed steel cassette with aluminum spider and shifter. All from bike discount in eu.

Thanks!
The Cues line IS link glide. But a bit more heavy (duty).

Quote: "Shimano CUES is built upon our original LINKGLIDE technology to provide smooth and intuitive shifting that riders can count on in any situation."

I opted for the 10S cassette as it should shift effortlessly. But I do regret that a bit, the 11 speed does have a shorter first gear and 10speed seems to be phased out, so there is less choice in shifters. 11S would be the more sensible thing to do. Only a different cassette and shifter.

I got a lot from that website and Bike24. It is still a lot of money (for a bicycle) but I have scored some good deals. Like the Magura MT5 for 98 euro front AND rear!

There is a company that is even (considerable) cheaper, HiBike. But I do not know if they are trustworthy. Almost to good to be true and a lot of negative reviews.
