Are you having any frame contact issues with the fox float X towards the end of the stroke?
I stacked the washers on top in the bushing, no more touching.

65mm.Im worried if that could cause stress in some other worse way but hopefully not, maybe someone will comment on it. What stroke is that shock @Torqshred
Nice. I used the exact same solution and it worked for me. I don't love the additional eccentricity/stress on the shock but it is what it is. I think worst-case scenario it'll just wear the shock out a little faster
Yeah it attaches to a metal plate and I dont think youll bend that, if anything I figure you'll wear out a replaceable bushing inside the shock if it really has that much force but because it hinges, I dont think theres much to worry about.Nice. On my frame the shock was starting to make contact about 60% of the way into the stroke. If you let all the air out of the shock and check you might see it start to make contact, on a harsh bottom out I could see the shock just flexing out of the way potentially and not making a noise since it starts off as a very minor amount of contact.I just did a worthy drop today 6’ to flatish and didn’t bottom out but used basically all of the travel in my 205x60 fox float x and I did not hear or feel anything. You can see from underneath the shock did not hit. Are the issues you all are seeing coming from the longer stroke option? The 205x65?
Is yours a 60 or 65 stroke? On my frame the shock was starting to make contact about 60% of the way into the stroke. Sorry. I edited my post. Small frame. What are your guys frame sizes?
The odd thing is that I understand there's no difference between a 205x60 and 205x65 though, just a spacer internally that limits the stroke travel. And contact on mine occurs well before the final 5mmNot sure. Right now the common thread is a 65 hits and a 60 seems to clear. Let’s see if others with 60s hit in larger size frames. I do think that a 65 should not be listed on the szzs site if it doesn’t fit. That’s a problem for sure.
My guess is the size has everything to do with it. The frame linkage/shock path of travel would be the same for the 60 and 65mm strokes up until the last 5mm. I'm definitely interested in hearing what other people's experiences are like on the different frame sizes.Could mine being a mullet make a difference? I would think that a 65 having the longer stroke affects the overall leverage curve.
I have a large frame. What are your guys frame sizes?
It doesnt fit because of the extra e-volume in mine. If the float x was just a straight body on the oil resiviour it wouldnt touch. Not sure. I think it might be good to have all of this on one post. What size and style shocks work and what doesn’t.It doesnt fit because of the extra e-volume in mine. If the float x was just a straight body on the oil resiviour it wouldnt touch.
This is to do with shock design, not frame. There are multiple shocks that wont fit this frame by design.
What we're discussing though is that for the float x, compatibility varies by frame size. The small seems to have a little more shock clearance overall than the large. It doesnt fit because of the extra e-volume in mine. If the float x was just a straight body on the oil resiviour it wouldnt touch.

Can you ask them for more information on the design change? I'm guessing it's an update to the shock yoke or link and not the carbon front triangle. If that's the case hopefully they'll sell those pieces separately for those of us who want to run larger diameter shocks on our frames.New to the forum and new to E-bikes. I Ordered a CEF69 frameset in size large at the beginning of the year and while waiting for shipment came across this shock/frame issue. Of course I had already acquired a fox Float X2 (205x60mm) from the UK on a deal so I don't think I can return it. I messaged my sales rep (even sent over the picture nvcheeko posted with the x2 installed)and was informed there is a frame design change and assured my float X2 will work with my frame. I don't think I'll have the frame in hand for at least a month or so to confirm.
I thought the same and specifically asked if it was a suspension linkage change and was told the frame. I'm honestly skeptical that it will work especially with an X2. The customer service has been good so I'm just going to roll with it and hope I don't have to buy another shock. Can you ask them for more information on the design change? I would say the discussion is poor shock clearance in general as most shocks I look at are as big or bigger then the float X.What we're discussing though is that for the float x, compatibility varies by frame size. The small seems to have a little more shock clearance overall than the large.
Hmm interesting, maybe they just modified their existing moulds to make the underside of the top tube concave or something. Same lol. Just want to be able to run my superdeluxe coil without destroying my frameI will be riding my 65mm Float X with the shock offset regardless. I'm not in UCI downhill, I'm doing this for the strava times. LMAO
Keep us posted on what you hear. My contact was just the messenger on ALI marketplaceHmm interesting, maybe they just modified their existing moulds to make the underside of the top tube concave or something. I messaged my sales rep as well.
I agree. You can see on SkOt medium frame above he is very close but clears and on my small it’s seems like quite a bit more clearance. What makes no sense is it should be the other way around. Small should have the least amount of clearance and large the most. We really need to hear from our reps on the resolution. To not accept a fox float x is a major concern. What piggy backs will it take? Will we all get the correct upgrades from szzs? What we're discussing though is that for the float x, compatibility varies by frame size.
