Nice, how did the frame feel overall? And you have a 27.5 rear wheel right?

Yes 27.5 there is picture in this thread, It felt great no issue at all. should easliy get 80km out of battery, I havn't tried on trail yet, Only thing is the Banfag app doesnt work with Strava says the app has reached its user limit, not SSZ issue though.

Also you can't change the Wheel circumfernece in app so make sure you have Besst it was 27.5 2099mm from factory or get K1 Flash or the BBR and use Phone to program. PS i do have a BBR which ill be installing on weekend for easy unlock speed.

My, very basic, maths says approximately 12mm. Difference in diameter is 1.5 inch so difference in radius is 0.75 inch, 19.5mm. If the BB is halfway between the 2 axles (it is more to the rear) that 19.5mm will be halved again. As it is more to the rear the drop will be more. So a educated thumbsuck is 12mm.

Feel free to correct me, my school days are long behind

Can you explain what Besst is? K1 Flash and BBR? In the US there is no restriction on the speed. Is the circumference change still needed?

Besst is programming tool for Bafang motor used for dianostics changing settings or speed limit that isnt in the go+ app, or want to change firmware, can update firmware of all componants, some people make custom firmware, it plugs inline of the sreen and the motor so its pretty easy to connect dont need to pull motor out, . go to Bafang and download Besst Pro and use offline mode you can see what it does. Bafang Best Pro

K1 Flash is just same as the Besst but you can just use SD card rather then plug laptop in, put updats on SD plug it into the bafang screen and do update. K1 Flash (Dado is very active on EMBT also)

BBR can be used with phone to change settings over Terminal also it can set magic combination, so its unlocked speed then when you turn bike off it restarts as locked if anyone pulls you over, but you can change settings with command also.BBR (made by dado)

I ordered the Besst tool with the Frame, If you were in Brisbane Austalia id be happy to lend it as its not something you use every day but coming from DIY 10kw Ebikes i will always get as much disnostic tools as i can we have no bafang shop here.

I've gone for 205 x 65

Cool..thx for this. I guess the U.S. motors are shipped in unrestricted mode (so 28mph/45kmh)? But this is all really neat. Thx for sharing. Will look into all of it.

Guys Just letting you know i ordered 150MM cranks and i also ordered a 2mm offsett bushing so i can do the hardwork for the people with Mullet combo, my pedals have strikes on them and i was only on footpath so once i get it all ill measure it all up and let you all know.

Thanks. I ordered the 152 cranks as well. Excited to see your results. Hoping Mullet is truly possible but I am getting more concerned. Its really odd because the full 29r the BB height off the ground is quite good clearance. I just cant believe going mullet drops it by that much but that does seem to be the case. Curious...I forget...are you running 170/160 also? How much % sag are you running in the rear? What size tire? One item also, we can only do one 2mm offset as the Trunnion does not allow for 2.

Thanks I had 165mm Cranks Order 150mm from Miranda and 2mm offset was from Offsetbushings.com sag set to 25% im running 2.6 tyre But i was only on foot path going around corners quickly so dont think there be much sag, I get pressures could change it little too but still it will strike off road.

150mm and 2mm more will be like 15mm on cranks and maybe 2mm on BB so i guess that will make difference. I'll do some pics so everyone can see the measurements. I'll do both tests with one and not other see differences then do both together.

@nvcheeko

Hi, I have a question what's your CEF69 frame size?

I also have a FOX Float X2 205x65. I waiting for CEF69 size "L" frame and I'm worried it this damper will not fit to frame.

I'm running M Frame but i think its more becuase of Mullet, it seems ok but havnt taken it offroad till i get pedal strikes sorted, Its the 2025 Can Size is 54mm The 2026 is like 56mm i found out. Could not have much sag 25% seems ok not hitting but if i max it it might, Its like peice paper gap when its full stroke

Hi, I have two questions:

  • What’s the torque spec for the motor mounting bolts?
  • How are you protecting the brake/shifter housings and the speed sensor cable where they pass from the main frame to the rear triangle? It looks like a high-wear area that could chew through the cables pretty quickly.

Totally confused by this question.

Brakes go through the frame don't touch the frame, the Speed sensor is bolted to frame already mounted with pickup mouted to the 6 bolt disc, I don't think anything wear out. Torque spec is what bafang recommend.

Does anyone have a torque spec chart for all of the pivot and motor mount bolts for the Szzs-69? Thanks. Building it up as I type!

Can't help with the torque spec but did your frame just arrive? Can you let me know the date it shipped and where you are in the US? Mine shipped 11/23 and I'm in socal, still hasn't arrived yet.

Regarding the cables passing from the rear triangle into the frame: I believe time will quickly prove me right. I’ve seen better cable routing designs that still led to rapid fraying (unless, of course, someone only rides a bike like this on asphalt). I will definitely find a way to protect them — I’ll design a 3D print using TPU and share it with you here.

I found the torque specs for the motor bolts — it's 35Nm (according to Bafang).
For the bolts without torque markings, I tightened them to 10Nm, which should be fine.

I have a request for you: please unscrew the lower rear triangle pivot bolt (just from one side) and measure the depth with a caliper (as shown in the photo). Why? I’ll tell you — the bolt I received is too short, and because of that, it lacks support on one side. I hope this is just a one-off case.

My problem with miranda are that they are aluminum and bend super easy with any kind of contact.

Ive burned two sets, but was the only option for the M620.

I have been playing around with the bolt sizes also. They are not all the same nor are the washers. I too had to use the short one on the photo you took. If you don’t you will have play on the others.

Guys also if you buy off Jean, Since im in Australia he would usually respond wth in 1hr on Alibaba, I was messaging him most days building and would always respond.

Bolts do recess on Motor, Here are some pics of Pivit point, And if its a 10mm Bolt use 10NM unless says on bolt.

Sounds good, thanks. Were you also only given UPS tracking information or were you able to track it prior to the domestic shipping portion? Assuming mines held up in customs or something right now.

Apologies I did not respond earlier. I missed it. Id say mine took about 40 days from when I paid for it (shipping to Midwest U.S.A. The battery came as a separate package from Motor/Frame. The battery arrived 2-days prior to the motor/frame. I received a tracking number for both. Neither package is trackable until it gets into the UPS domestic system. With that said, once I saw it hit the domestic tracking system, the packages arrived literally the next day.

It was approximately 4 months from the time I sent the money to the time I received my bike in Ontario Canada. The dates they had suggested were correct, and everything was there. I ordered the wheelset with the bike too, they arrived in another package, but in the same shipment. The UPS tracking number they had given me, and what we used were two different one. I kept checking and the UPS tracking stating it was waiting for the package, not even 15 minutes after checking UPS was at the door dropping the bike off.

So far everything has gone together great. I have ordered a set of 152mm cranks for the bike, as well as some final touches. The bike looks amazing, and ready to ride when this ice stops flying here !

Nice build..how did you route the throttle and control cable to the frame? Did you drilled the holes bigger?

Yes ...... but one side has a slit in the side of it to slide a large head through it.... little did I know. But Drilling is possible.

I have wrapped side with the controls / throttle on the side. I have also made it that I can remove the throttle for parks that I intend on riding that insist on no throttles. Which is no big deal to me, so I have left the connector on the outside of the bike, plus the throttle cable is unfortunately just too short to put all connectors inside the frame from what I have received. I wish the throttle cable was 4 inches longer.

Other than that, it looks much cleaner than my FREY AM1000V6 Wiring.

I just checked the weight of that frey bike and thats a tank, 33kg lol. Is your build like 10kg lighter? xD

Its 21lbs lighter, being said I had a absolute blast on my Frey; over 4000km; and with 170NM but 70lbs... yikes. I am very excited to ride this and see how much faster it will be with only 150NM and 49lbs.

Ill still use it for towing the dog trailer, and around town! My wife will also start riding it.
