The 170/178 isnt referring to front and rear travel, its referring to rear travel being 170mm in 29er and 178mm with a 27.5 wheel. It runs a 180mm fork, pretty sure that part is non negotiable, although maybe you could run a 190mm if you wanted? :)
You can see a better pic of the down tube sticker on the first page of this thread :) Its the same category as the first Teewing ebike :)
In Andi's test i think he referenced running a 170mm fork (maybe by mistake?) and he got a fair few pedal strikes and switched to 180mm and all was fixed.
I've asked the new aussie distributor (Pushys) if they are planning to offer frame onlys of Teewing bikes, havent heard back yet.

Yup this is correct. R Travel is 170 - 178 depending on the mullet flip chip position. 180mm on the front out of the box. I would love to try it with 190mm 😊

23kgs with downhill casing tyres is pretty sweet for a 180/180. Medium for me, with a bit of weight weenie work, can see it around the mid 22kgs. I'm almost tempted to buy the 600wh battery separately and drop another 1kg.

It's either 170/180mm 29/29 or Mullet, 178/180mm. flip chips plus geo chip on lower shock mount. Hi/LO

Is it just me or are those pretty short chainstays in the mullet setup? I’m not any expert on geo but have at least been familiarizing myself with the normal ranges you see on most frames and those stick out to me as being pretty short. Does the high pivot offset it in some way?
 
probably rear center and not cs. cs should be exactly the same length, or is there a flip chip on the cs?

then it’s really shorter and causes the bb to be higher because the seat stay stays at the same length. strange design decision, the velduro location in the seat stay makes more sense
 
I'm thinking the small bump suppleness will be better with the 27..5, as the wheel will move back more initially in suspension compression.

Interesting to see a really aggressive rider put it through it's paces in both configurations.

I wonder how close Andy lives near Rob ...... :giggle:
 
Man, the chainstay length takes a hit in the 27.5 mode, not an issue for those running 29er but.
I dont remember seeing another frame with a 27.5/29 flip chip in this location, is it very common? I cant even properly visualize how it would compensate for the BB height.

You could run the 27.5 with the flip chip giving the longer chainstay. But you don't gain the extra travel and you are lowering BB height. But you could then just run the shock flip chip in the high position.

There is some experimentation that can be done. But I would definitely run the MX setup.

You get more travel and more rearward hit compliance, but a price will be paid. Without the kinematic graphs, I would suspect the MX setup to have wild large rearward axle path, exaggerating the ride handling dynamics in the curves. You are gonna have to really like spirited HP handling here. Sag settings and shock tuning will be a tedious affair.

With the E-Druid, the bike already has long chainstays which IMO, tamps down some negative aspects of HP dynamics. With the Rogue, it tames things by having a longer pivot arm (mounted fore of the headtube) while keeping the rear-center geometrically more conventional.

I doubt Rob would take to this bike, especially in MX setting, as an XL Front Center is literally twice the length as the Rear Center. Not to mention the dude is just not a fan of short chainstays in general.

Started to think the same thing about just sticking with 29 setting for MX. It will also reduce reach and slacken seat tube / head tube angles as well and also give more mud clearance. The MX setting, OTOH, is a bit beyond the pale - again Kinematic graphs will be telltale.

adding an angle set could work
 
What I was saying was, I don’t think I’ve seen a flip chip in that position that is specifically to change wheel sizes.
