Fox podium forks

Posted 7 years ago on reddit. But cool story, bro ...... 🤭

Well of course it was, I’ve never damaged my uppers like that nor my lowers like you.

You’ve posted about some damage to your fork lowers and somehow are reaching to extrapolate that to what would have happened to a fork you don’t own or ride. I posted that pic to show how you couldn’t damage podiums in the same way, so swings and roundabouts.

So, back at you, cool story bro… 🙄

You posted, as is common, in a needlessly antagonistic way to try and ‘win’ the internet or something.

I need to get an Enduro Fork for the Enduro frame I just bought. I have discussed the positives of the podium. I have discussed vulnerabilities. I have discussed current issues being experienced. That's what's going on. That is my focus.

Not sure why you are having an emotional reaction to my posts. But I cannot control your emotions.

If you have never scratched your lowers, then I contend that you and I ride completely differently. I push to the limit, on very technical terrain. I have had to replace sections of ride wrap on my chain stays, seat stays and forks and the bike is only 6 months old.. So I scratch the lower parts of my entire bike. Hence my concerns with low stanchions.

Perhaps this is why we see things differently, and why you are getting so worked up.

You don’t know me, this is not emotion, but I do know that you seem to have a problem with anybody pushing back and disagreeing with you. You don’t have to agree with me, nor do you have to argue the toss with anybody who has a different view. If you can’t deal with that, don’t reply, simple.

If your ‘evaluation’ is your reason for posting the picture, then why not just say it.

If you crash or are as careless as you appear to be that often, then I guarantee at some point you’re going to damage any fork beyond what you’re happy with.

And of course I’ve damaged forks and bikes before, some beyond repair, you don’t ride for 45+ years and not break things. I currently have 5 e-bikes I ride regularly, and some non e-bikes as well, they all have regular signs of use.

I also don’t constantly post pictures of said damage to convince other people they ‘purchased the wrong forks’.

Great to hear you’re a riding god now as well, can I have a signed poster to put on my wall next to Winfords?! 💕😂

@Astro66 posts are indeed worthy of Winford.

My posts are about forks. It is a fork thread.

As far as the rest of your post. ...... Nice rant? ....... No idea ......

Me ??? I'm trying to pick a new fork for my new Enduro frame ? I want to discuss pros and cons. Not get caught up in rant-man's melt-down. ...... 🤭
Start your own ‘What new fork my enduro frame - Only opinions I agree with please’ thread then, rather than polluting this one?

Anyone had trouble with there break hose rubbing.

No. No rubbing here.
Use the available play in hose to move the hose around. You can add a little twist on the hose then clamp it down.
Mess with it and you’ll find the spot. If you don’t have enough play, you’ll need a longer hose.
I also had to adjust the banjo.

Would it be Ok to speak in this thread, if we referred to you as "Lord Tooks" ? Asking for a friend ....... 🤭

Anyway ....... I just pre-ordered the Velduro frame. Gee Milner put out a Dream Build video of this frame build with a Podium yesterday. It looks great. But I have concerns due to my riding.

I ride in the National Park where the trails are mostly natural trails. There are many technical rock garden climbs, where you climb between large rocks, and if you stall. Before you can get a foot down, the bike leans over and may contact these rocks. This sometimes scratches your, chainstay, seatstay, cranks, pedals, derailleur cage or fork lower. Items close to the ground. I remedy this by running ride wrap on any of these items I can.

As I had this exact experience yesterday, and I saw the Gee Milner video yesterday. I had a light bulb moment and I thought I'd ask in this thread how the Podiums would fare when this happens, as I cannot run ride wrap on the lowers. And I cannot just simply touch up the lowers, like I can the derailleur cage and cranks.

......... Sorry to those that didn't want the full novel. But I'm hoping not to get scolded by Lord Tooks again ....... :ROFLMAO:

Morning hun, you sleep well?! 😘

Looks like a nice bike, and re the forks honestly I think you worry too much.

Just build it and ride it, by the sounds of it you’re going to have some offs and you’re going to damage some things, the mech, the frame, the forks, whatever. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe ‘upside down’ podium style forks aren’t for you, but they ride great and do perform very well from what I’ve heard from people who actually ride with them.

Scratched stanchions can be fixed though, maybe not cosmetically perfect, but functionally. It’s a tube running through some seals at the end of the day, the seals don’t care if it looks perfect.

I’m starting to think you only covet them because they’re gold, right?! 😉

Loving this thread, all the little Hobbits who could start an argument in an empty room in one place arguing over aluminium tubes. Can we keep you all locked in here, would make the place much more peaceful. 😂

I’ve never been so offended, I might look like a hobbit but I definitely shave my toes so they’re not hairy! 😃

Takes one to know one.

Oh. 🤭

You ring the bell, they all come running 🤣 .

Serously boys, go ride your bikes, the squabbling is tedious af. Not you Irie, best you carry on shopping for £££ upgrades so you can keep smashing the Centurion way like a boss.

It’s not like you can ride 24 hours a day. There’s a bit of time for troll smacking in everyday.
I can’t stare at the wall and do nothing while I sit on the truth throne after coffee.
So I hunt trolls.

The Centurion Way is a necessary boring evil to get to and from the South Downs.

Hi,

getting a fox podium soon on my yeti lte. I am totally concerned about the leaking. Are there workarounds concering the leaks? other seals etc? i would try to get them.
I am just worried about leaking and damaging my brekapads with the oil when i am on vacation. Because it destroys my vacation.

In spring a new 38 with other lowers will be released i hear. Probably getting this then...?

i don*t like intend. I have real bad expirience with intend and their service. I will not buy their products.
I was passive aggresivly insulted by them after i got a foulty trinity.

I saw you were writing many posts: none was helpful. your just messing around. dOn*t know why are you trolling around here.

so back to topic.

Bought mine from brink cycles, and before they installed them they put better seals in them, hopefully I won’t have any leaks

One of my riding buddies has had his podium rebuilt by fox twice. He now stores his bike up side down sitting on the handle bars…. He is not sure if it does anything.😳

Can you share some of your experiences with Intend, as I'm pretty darn interested in the Flash 38 but there is so little info out there about them in the USA?

I have this exact wear. Mine is becoming pretty bad. I have heated up my brake cable and tried to form a bend better as well as moved the banjo to the best angle but it still happens.

It seems like they did not wrap the guard around enough so unless you have the perfect bend and slack in your brake line this will always happen.

I heard there are new seals avaible. Any one has recently had a service after leaking ?
