Looking mint with the new bits onBikes brilliant, just need to dial in the rebound and stuff. Fork felt way to quick with what ever settings it’s on now so I’ll definitely be slowing it down or maybe trying to get hold a shockwiz for a week or so.

That’ll work for the fork, but Shockwiz only works with air sprung rear shocks, so you’ll have to just go by trial and error with the coil.or maybe trying to get hold a shockwiz for a week or so
I’ve found that both Fox 38 factory forks I’ve had, Fox recommend a base sag of 15-20% and that’s just too firm. Dropping pressure to around 25% sag gets things where they should be, but you might need to add a volume spacer to prevent bottom out (depends how you ride).Fork felt way to quick with what ever settings it’s on
Fox says 93psi for my weight, ive got 86 in at moment which feels great. The forks a little fast but ive not touched the dials yet. Chatgpt gave me some settings to try so tomorrow thats what im going to do. The rear coil is dialed in now and im happy with that, just the fork to do.I’ve found that both Fox 38 factory forks I’ve had, Fox recommend a base sag of 15-20% and that’s just too firm. Everything is best done to match your base pressure that hits the % sag you want; rather than relying on Fox’s guesstimate for your weight, that never takes into account the bike geo. I’d try the stock settings for that pressure in this Fox 38 guide (pages 12-14) as a start point. For the forks I’ve usually found Shockwiz has only ever suggested 1 click different from these for the middle of the road ‘neutral/poppy’ feel (the rear shock is a very different story though).ive got 86 in at moment which feels great

Thanks for sharing this... I did a few bracketing rides and played around with each clicker individually. I've found a point where the bike feels amazing on maintained trails but turns to garbage on high-frequency chunk, especially the further into the ride I get.I’m 93Kg (in birthday suit) and after using a friend’s Shockwiz for several weeks with my XL AT variant (FF 38/Float X2). I landed on the following:
All numbers are clicks out anti-clockwise from max damping/compression (all the way in clockwise).
Forks (just over 20% sag)
89 psi
3 Volume spacers (stock as the bike comes)
LSR 6
HSR 4
HSC 10
LSC 10
Shock (30% sag):
215 psi
4 Volume spacers (4 max -bike comes with only one volume spacer)
LSR 6
HSR 3
LSC 4
HSC 4
Remember to throw away any memory of fork settings before you changed the shock... PSI, clicks, etc... Start from scratch.Thank you so much, ill give those a go tomorrow and see how they feel.
Sorry, missed this (I don't login often), I'll keep an eye outI'll be over at Grogley after work tomorrow evening approx 5pm. If you can make it you can take a look at my setup.

Back from the LBS - Shock Blown with ~20hrs on it... LBS are going to rebuild it tomorrow for free, if it happens again it goes back to Fox (and I switch to a coilThanks for sharing this... I did a few bracketing rides and played around with each clicker individually. I've found a point where the bike feels amazing on maintained trails but turns to garbage on high-frequency chunk, especially the further into the ride I get.
Initially I thought the rear was packing and played with rebound to no avail. I went to 3 spacers in the shock (all I had) to see if I could stay in the first part of travel, but it felt worse, like I was hitting the ramp-up even quicker in the chunk (spacers working correctly, but blowing through travel still).
Now with only 20hrs of ride time on the shock, I'm starting to hear the dreaded squish.... And things make sense now. My rebound works ok on lower frequency or bigger hits, but is just not there on the high-frequency hits and the shock quickly packs down to the point I can barely hold on. By the time I ride home I feel even small bumps on asphalt through the seat....
So I guess I'm back to the LBS later to see about sending the shock back to Fox
The coil posts that just popped are are looking interesting now... Looking forward to some longer term reviews.
If it goes back to Fox, they have been pretty efficient with replacing X2 shocks in my experience. I had a 2023 X2 Factory shock on my Sommet enduro rig bought n Oct 23, but after some minor noise concerns in Feb 24 (slight and not serious), I got in touch with Fox Factory servicing and they told me to send it in for evaluation; it was turned around within 24 hours and I was sent a brand new 2024 X2 shock (in retail packaging) that has been faultless ever since.Back from the LBS - Shock Blown with ~20hrs on it... I ordered 145 pinned cranks to try. If I don't get along with them I will try something else.my Stereo 160 in size L had pedal strikes
I ordered the M and will add 150 mm cranks >>> Why?:
look at the table attached .. The M wheelbase is 30 mm shorter and the same components >> this should result in a bit more lee way.

I have these in this size and they’re great, way less pedal strikes and I don’t notice any performance/feel degradation.I ordered 145 pinned cranks to try. If I don't get along with them I will try something else.
Yes, technique has a part to play, ratchet instead of full strokes help as well. But with that being said is is nice to have some margin and I am definitely going with shorter cranks.I don't understand how people hit the floor so often.
It's a problem I've had with other bikes, but over time you learn the technique partial strikes on the pedals to avoid hitting the ground.
With an e-bike with a ‘boost’ mode, where the bike keeps going after you stop pedaling, hitting the ground is very rare
This is a '25 version of the shock with 20hrs on it... Guessing it had sat in the warehouse for too long and then along comes a 250lb guy having far too much fun on his new bike and starts plowing it into everything... lol...If it goes back to Fox, they have been pretty efficient with replacing X2 shocks in my experience. Let us know how you get on with it. I luckily had some Hope stem spacers kicking around at home and picked up a Bergtec stem cap, to replace the odd shaped plastic things that Cube had used (that don’t match a normal stem).40mm stem feels pretty good. If this works, I'll pick up something more permanent at the weekend
I ride in the French alps where the trails can be very rocky, very narrow and completely unmaintained.I don't understand how people hit the floor so often.

it's happening on narrow stuff when a tiny section allows to get back momentum .... My brain wants to pedal just one more rotation and boomI don't understand how people hit the floor so often.

Yes, over to an ethirteen stem, Hope spacers and Bergtec top cap and it all works just fine. Can't comment on the headset, as I've no intention of messing around with that until it needs it.Also has anyone replaced the stem and spacers
When I first got my AT variant, I had thought I'd swap to the Kiox 400C when it came out to tidy up the cockpit; but having read some hands on accounts and that it isn't even touch screen, I'm going to stick with Purion 400 as it's got the same capabilities (as far as I can tell), is easier to read when riding, and won't cost me anything to stick with it!are you keeping the Purion 400 display

I fancy a france trip I would need to take train though don't trust myself driving. Not sure where would be easiest reached by train though. I was in three valleys last year skiing that would be a choice if not a chew to get to.Staying in Bourge Saint Maurice then exploring from there. I’ve done most resorts etc over the years but not been for 12 years!
I like off piste stuff but just happy to have a week dedicated to riding my bike.![]()
