would be keen to see other people with similar weight and riding style/terrain setups?

Developed a pretty bad knocking noise coming from either the rear end or the motor area today - can’t feel any play/slop in the pivots or the shock hardware - any ideas what this could be?

Headset and rear wheel axle all tight, cranks/chainring don’t wobble

Bike has been ridden 18 times - definitely doesn’t sound as lovely and silent as the first few rides I had on it - oh well

Only when pedalling?

Hello,
I'm new to here.
I bought 2026 Bullit GX build and absolutely love this bike.
I have done about 10 rides, the bike is getting dialed in.
I like to ride steep, fast DH trails in socal.

Yesterday, I was riding a pretty steep hill (average 17% slope) on turbo and a creaking noise from motor started developed.
It was noticeably loud and sounded like internal gears were coming loose or something.
Immediately I shifted a few gears both up and down to see if the noise would go away but didn't.
Then I pulled off and looked around, found nothing obvious.
Once I started pedaling again, the noise was completely gone and never happened again for the day.
Has anyone experienced like this?

That sounds like the shock to me. I had a coil shock that would make a similar sound when it topped out.

Are you sure about the HSC value?

I think the Grip X2 damper has only 8 clicks available on HSC.
That’s a good point. I spotted that too. I’ll need to check the next time on my bike. I did read somewhere that this fork may have more turns than 8 HSC but anything after 8 does nothing

Thanks. Good to see others setups. I’m going to aim to firm a few things up for a more aggressive setup. Need to re check my fork HSC also.

Made the splurge with the öhlins. Only one ride so far, but the coil transforms the bike, holy shit. Still dialing it in, but blows the X obviously out of the water. Riding with high progression setting. Also: motor update is a blast, emtb+ mode rocks.

Great. Thanks. I’ll take a second look.
Just an update on my side here a I finally got the chance to check. My HSC dial on my factory 38, grip x2 , definitely has more than 8 clicks HSC. I physically get 11 clicks from fully closed/clockwise.

After some googling I feel this damper has 10 clicks HSC opposed to 8

Only the 8 clicks do anything

Thanks for that. Did you use the supplied plastic cable holder that Santa Cruz supply in the box? I didn’t get one but interested how it fits.
I just fitted a 250 mm with the Cord Wrangler and it seems super tight! The kink at the connector is far more tight than I like - feel like its going to wear like a bad iphone cable. How have others mounted? Also what do you guys do with respect to the rubber socket cover. Feels highly prone to get in the way of the crank and torn off.

Don’t use the clip, But my 250mm cable is much longer than that.. Are you sure thats not a 150mm?

It’s easy to remove the rubber cover. After opening the cover you need to turn it 90° or 180° (don’t remember) and then you can pull the cover out. See photo how it looks on the backside.

Thanks for checking.
I thought the models with more than 8 clicks but only the first 8 doing anything where older models. Interesting to see this is still true for the newest version.

Had that thought as well but measured it. Saw elsewhere that people like the 300mm with the cord wrangler. ordered one of those and will report back.

Not a Bullitt but on my XXL Vala I used the 250 cable. The 250mm is only the center part of the cable, not including the ends. It stays out of the way, with no kinks and does not rub on the frame. I also cut off the tab that holds the charge port cover on so it was not flapping about. It stays in just fine when not using the range extender

Agreed. Yesterday I confirmed with fox and they noted “total HSC is 8. On some dampers the dial will be able to reach more clicks, however these additional clicks will not open up the HSC any further. It is for this reason that all settings are counted from the fully closed position.”
