Sort of a related question, but can you add the new Kiox 400 display to the SX? I want to add to my new Shuttle SL/Am....

If your bike has the larger cut out on the top tube, ie your current display has a blanking plate around it, then it should be good to go.

There are bar mounted options though if I remember correctly.

I think you can. Someone posted a Bosch document about it and I recall it listed the smart systems it was compatible with and I’m sure it was SX mentioned.

The benefit of having lots of early adopters is that I can make a decision whether to bother with the update or not depending on the feedback. Perfectly happy with my Bosch motors as they are so unless I see real benefit I will leave well alone.

1st world problems I know but:
I won't have any family obligations for the next 3 weeks, aiming to get a LOT of riding done in the Alps. A more powerful mode would massively help me achieve that (I will be doing double battery days 4 days in a row each weekend, currently in the worst shape of my life).

I am on Android, so I would only be able to benefit from the new modes on the last weekend.

Question: If I use an old iphone lying around to get the update a week early, can I still connect with my android main phone, or am I likely to have issues?

Just use the flow app to tune what you have.....after which the update will probably make little difference.

How is the bike. Looks stunning in media images.
I was on an SL, ans LOVED that bike, but wanted a touch more travel. The fit and finish of a Pivot are 2nd to none, and it rides like it's on rails! I do like the quietness of the Fazua over the Sx, but that's the only small flaw I've found!

The power update will be nice, but the 85Nm and 600W has been plenty IMO. Also, I don't much like the overrun modes either, so the EMTB+ isn't that interesting.

To me the BIGGEST improvement they could make is to add a 28mph Class 3 mode option. It's not about going 28mph on trails and terrorizing people, since I rarely hit max speed while pedaling on trails anyway. It's actually more of a safety concern on the street. Part of my rides involves riding on the street 3-4 miles from the parking area to the trailhead. Cars are going about 35-40mph and I'm stuck doing 18-20. That speed differential is sketchy and the option to do 28mph would be huge.

I own another Class 3 bike and it's so much better when riding to the trail, it feels substantially safer when riding alongside cars. Realistically I end up spending most of the time around 25-26mph which feels right. It really is the sweet spot where it is still reasonable speed for a bicycle, but closes the speed differential with traffic.

Cani update my Gen5 to have emtb + but not increase the NM or amplification ?
IMHO Bosch got emtb pretty much perfect first time around and my flow stats reflect that as I'm in EMTB mode mostly and tour + on 3hr plus rides

Not very clear on the Bosch site but it looks to me that emtb+ replaces emtb and the flow up then allows you to increase the power or leave it at the existing......probably will not know for sure until someone does the update! I will wait until others have uploaded before I decide whether to bother or not. Like you I am perfectly happy with emtb as it is.

With the smart systems ability to choose whatever modes you like if you don’t like EMTB+ you could surely revert back to EMTB?

The same way I can still choose the sport mode from pre smart system era.

The modifications you can apply with the Flow app are mode specific, so the answer is yes.

After enabling eMTB+ on your bike use the Flow app and modify max Nm to 85 and support to either -1 or -2.
The support modification will take one tenth or two tenth from the original support factor of 400% for that mode. This will leave you with either 360% (slightly higher than the 340% from the original eMTB mode) or 320% (slightly lower).

Does your bike have the cutout for a larger display in the top tube if the bike? If so you should be good to have it fitted later on. Needs a sofware update as well from a local LBS

I heard from a dealer (albeit they did say they are being kept quite in the dark by Bosch) that aside from the obvious larger cutout fitment, there might also be an adaptor plate that fits inside the small aperture, and creates a larger cutout. Obviously, this wont be flush, but might be neater than a bar mount display.

Sounds like the motor run-on is excessive? I hope they make that part tunable in the app...or get it under control, or it is a no-go for me. I can't have ANY unpredictability when I'm doing tech on the side of a cliff!

Even the old CX4 can be problematic. I've had problems while hopping up rocks on the side of a cliff, riding steep stuff where I might get bounced around, or even starting on super-steep. I've found that it's sometimes better to dial it back to a lower-assist mode.

I'm looking forward to the update, but expect a little bit of a learning curve to get it dialed in the way I like it.

The Bosch update is finally out — at least for iPhone users...

iPhone user here. Nothing in my app.
I've looking forward to this for a long time. It's even my birthday today, so it would be a great present. Come on Bosch !!!

EDIT!!
I updated the Flow app, and rebooted. Now it's there, and downloading. Yay!!
:)

I have it on Android, too! Gen5 100nm.

However, Bosch SX update not there (I also own a SX eMTB). One week more?

I have a two bikes, one Gen 5 and one Gen 4, just completed the update to both. Gen 5 is a two step process with a sperate drive system update need for 100nm. Gen 4 had a fail message but once it turned back on seems perfect, now showing EMTP+ mode as one of the options. Enjoy everyone!!

I've downloaded and installed it to my Mondraker with Gen5 BDU384Y.
I can increase power to 750W , but Torque is still max 85Nm.
