    Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

    Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Derestricting bosch smart system

Thank you. It is over 250 km far from my place though :(

Just being curious, how does the bike perform after the change? Do you have a smart rim magnet config or "regular" brake sensor? Could you share your experience with us? (what distance did you make, any problems with motor and display functionalities?)

Thanks guys ! It's the first time I see the Bosch unlocked without any tunning module, why other competitors can't do it ?

Do you have any plan concerning the smart system or maybe with the rim magnet CX gen 5 ?

Can I ask how far away you are from a working software for BES3? Are we talking years or months? Or is it just not really possible to do?

45 limit motors have a larger gear in the motor, so it's easier to get higher speeds without pedaling like crazy
Hi mate, I tried to find the service where you had your bike reflashed and unfortunately did not find it. It is not listed as a Bosch authorised partner either.
Can you please tell more about the procedure?
Does the bike not see that it is not in the US but in Europe.. I would expect it restricts itself 🙃
As I am from Prague, it would be a 5+h drive for me (which would be worth it!).

I am very pleased. The display shows the correct speed, everything is the same as on the EU software with the difference that I drive faster :) the US software shows a message after each start to drive carefully and that's it
Does this work with Gen 5 Smart System Rim Magnet? I see you have Gen 4? Do you have a rim magnet?
 
Yes I have rim magnet, but gen 4. I don’t known :(

I've given up with my bikespeed.de chip as I can't risk going into limp mode miles from home.

I'm not willing to risk paying this to a Polish guy on a Polish site with no guarantees - but if I find a UK seller I will definetly go ahead. Good to know it can be done.
 
Good afternoon. Sorry, I may be asking a strange question. I have now bought a Cube bike with a Bosch performance line cx 5 gen motor. As far as I can see there is no guaranteed solution at the moment. Moreover, I don't see a 100% working solution for the Bosch Gen 4.
If I have a new bike and I want to ride without speed limits, why not buy a new motor in America, New Zealand and so on, and install it on my bike and just sell the one that came with the bike?
The price difference turns out to be the price of the chip, which ends up working like a lottery. Speedbox now sells the chip for 399 euros, which is almost half the price of a new motor)))

You can but obviously you'd lose any warranty etc but this would apply if you flashed it to another country too. So if that isn't a concern go for it!

Does anyone know if the Bosch Bes 3 Smart System has the same mounting points as the new Bosch Gen 5.

With my Pole Voima it doesn't matter, there is no guarantee anymore, the company is bankrupt.

Did you see what software he used to flash the motor?

What happens if you wanted to revert back for warranty to original software? Will he charge you full price again?
 
he used the Bosch_DiagnosticTool_3_13.6.11 and a Cube container with the US version for flashing.

Changed some settings. I assume that he has an OEM registration
 
That's great, please test it for a while and let me know after a few hundred kilometers how it works.

Is it okay to use the flow app?
Did he give you the recommendation not to update the new software?
 
I was in for a warranty inspection after changing the software to US. You don't lose your warranty. They told me that it doesn't affect the warranty. The only thing is that you can't update it yourself from the app, because the software will go back to European. They can update it in the service and it will still be US.
