Why 2.5 max ?

Thats what they "approve"

The EEB's came with WTB 2.5, and the Race CX came with WTB 2.4.
I know sizes vary between manufacturers.

Im in the mentality more is better, esp on an ebike. I guess i have a case of FOMO running 2.4 on an ebike.

I’ve been running a 2.6 Specialized rear on my Race CX 29er. Juuuust fits. The next tyre will be a 2.5.

Couple of mods - trying Rockshox over the stock Ohlins. New tyres too.

"Coming soon is the RS 180 eBike. Utilizing the full potential of the Cascade Components tuned Kinematics, these bikes will all ship configured as 180mm rear travel paired with a 180mm fork. It has all the newest Sram T-type goodies and is powered by the BOSCH CX-R (RACE) motor, a 750wh Powertube Battery and the sleek and well integrated bluetooth/wirelesss controller now available from Bosch. These will also include wireless dropper posts to get rid of another pesky cable. More details coming soon..."

I hope existing owners can upgrade to 180mm rear 🤞

Height that you can drop from goes up with travel^2 so that extra 5mm is 6% more rad 🤙
I see your point, probably wouldn't notice it, but hey, more is more! 😎

I also love this bike, it rips more than anything I have ever ridden. Wondering if anyone else’s batter charger flap disconnected from the frame and if there’s a fix? Have not reached out to troydon yet since it’s not super important just wondering

You guys with dual crown forks running 200mm?

Interested to give it a go.
Go for it, 200mm new Boxxer is sensational. It transforms your riding. I did a back to back with my girlfriend's single crown Kenevo and the Kenevo feels like you are being thrown around inside a pinball machine, wrestling the steering. Crestline just lets you focus on important navigational decisions. To be completely fair I dabbed my foot in 3 very tight hairpins on an extremely steep section, but after repeating it a couple of times I got through clean - just a good lesson to take a higher line on entry, and there are few trails this tight.
Got to give it a try mate 😁

Nice - which offset you go for (52mm / 48mm?)

52mm, which is all that was available.
From what I understand about offset, if your bike is long, you might benefit from reduced offset (increased trail) and the stability that this trail gives you and ability to weight the front. Whereas if your bike is small, maybe you benefit more from the extra wheelbase of the larger offset. To be honest I would probably have preferred short offset as increased trail is fashionable but it has plenty of stability and it is the smallest size bike so I can't feel anything wrong. Also maybe I get a smidge more steering lock with increased offset.
Probably doesn't matter at the end of the day 🤷‍♂️

Got to be the best looking fork iv seen... Does the front end sit higher now ?
It's fairly high but I'm happy with it (running 10mm rise bar). Have a flat crown as well so can drop it plenty if I need to for flatter terrain.

Used this to fit the 15mm front hub:
Cane Creek Fourty headset.

I fitted a -5 headstock cup "recommended by troydon" as im a short ass.. But the cup was 10, 15mm long, so lifted the bike 10, 15mm too, This slackened it to 61, 62 "fox 38" Not sure if it was being slacker or taller or bit of both but that nice steering at speed was gone, Felt the Front washing away. Removed cup and bike was replanted... getting 63, 64, Which for me and my riding was sweet..

FYI had a small challenge with the bike, and reached out to Troydon, who responded immediately and followed up to make sure everything was working okay. Can't beat their customer service, outside of building the best bike on the market, Troydon is also a wonderful guy. Anyone on the fence should pull the trigger and move on to owning the best bike they've ever ridden

I ordered a 2024 Boxxer, will be here tomorrow so will give it a go.

Also got a Vivid / Ohlins Coil just tuned by J-Tech / DHX2 tuned by Fox for testing.

I really liked the Ohlins DH38 on the Haibike NDURO 8 that I have in for test, although thats only 180mm, so if I have time i'll get that changed to 200mm to test aswell.

Crestline really is the perfect test bench for this kit!
