I actually think that the e7000 might turn out to be bit of a gem - e.g for me i hardly ever use turbo on the e8000, the appeal to me of the Shimano system are its riding characteristics in Trail mode.

Trail is pretty much perfect I think. Really adaptive and smooth. Boost seems jerky in comparison unless you get your gear and input just right.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it... the £200 uptick is probably in line as a % with bikes from the competition, and the changes in the wheelset and colours are both welcome. Still has a bit too much travel for me though given I reside in the flatlands of Hertfordshire!

Yeah the increase in cost puts it in line with the 7.0... torn between the two.

I think it's safe to say I know what my 2019 ride will be if I change from the Trek.

Wish i could - problem is my wife is a graphic designer who could easily do it, but if i asked her to photoshop a bad boi bike together i fear she would spend the next week taking the piss out of me, she already thinks its weird enough that i go out to the middle of a forest with people i met on the internet for a "ride"

Sounds normal to me. I’m sure my mrs could throw the graphic together too but then she’d know I was gonna buy another bike, and how much it cost.. balls to that, it will just appear in the garage one day and cost “£200 from Halfords, same amount as your face paints and ass wax sweetheart”

The liberal application of Chamois cream before said ride doesn’t help convince her I am not up to no good either

I've been waiting for the 2019. But the (nearly) all black makes me sad, in theory black looks cool in practice when everyone shows up dressed in black, riding black bikes, black packs, black helmets it just looks like a sad ninja convention.

I know shame they don't offer colour options but i guess that increases costs (left over stock)

Hi, I found your great thread while searching to purchase the 2018 Vitus E Sommet VR but as I read more I get more confused. Can the Vitus be compared to the Merida EONE Sixty 800 EP1? I am an old school BMXer at heart (80's Firebird Freestyler) and for me a responsive great to handle bike is very important. My current bike (Whyte 905) is great but my legs have gone and its time to switch to electric (with full suspension). Can you point me in the right direction perhaps? Mainly ride Whinlatter trail and hills in the lakes as live in Cumbria. Thanks!
