My Garmin Edge 530 is on firmware 7.0.0.0.

Hi,
Does your app work on the 2020 Rocky Mountain E-bike (iwoc3)?
Cordially.
Guillaume.

Ahh, not another Garmin firmware related issue.. :( Garmin continuously break something with their new updates. -P- is allright, it is just that app doesn't have yet, or looses connection. This can happen but app should automatically reconnect. But IQ means that Ebike Field crashed..
What FW do you have? Is there somebody experience the same thing on other Garmin models? (Please note that bug in Garmin FW is often quickly spread across more devices as Garmin reuses same code.)

Just confirmed my edge 530 was in 6.20. Just updated to 7.00 when I turned it on right now.

Garmin 1030 with firmware 11.0. I keep getting the -P- during my ride. Sometimes the data comes back. Sometimes not

Bonjour,

[/CITATION]

COMPATIBILITÉ VÉLO:

- Spécialisé Turbo Levo, Kenevo

- Creo spécialisé (à partir de 2019)

- Vélos électriques géants avec unité RideControlOne 2020

- Rocky Mountain Powerplay avec contrôleur iWOC 3.0

- Orbea avec EbikeMotion 2020 révision D

- Wilier Cento10

Ok, sorry - my fault!

Une possibilité d'erreur : le Edge ne doit pas être couplé en même temps que le champ de données Garmin "ebike" via ANT+.

Hi Jan, I use you Ebike field Nerd Edition on my Garmin fenix 6 I would like submit a change request.

Today I rode a route I created in Garmin Connect but due to a constructionsite I had to take a detour, so I get the alarm that I am off the course and the Battery indicator changes to offroute and the distance back to the route. I would rather have this Information anywhere else or beeing able to disable it compleatly. Not having detailed information on my batter level made range anxiety kick in big time since it was quite a large detour I had to take.

Rode a few days ago. About 10 minutes into the ride I got the —P— error again. Shut the bike off and back on and that fixed it for about another 10 minutes. Spent the rest of the ride with the —P—. This is on an edge 530 as mentioned in an earlier post. I’m bummed because I love the ability to see exact battery % and the mode I’m in all in one

Yes, unfortunatelly with latest Levo and/or Garmin updates this Ebike Field works very unreliably, roughly about 20-40% of riding time it shows --P-- and most of the time it does not reconnect by itself so restart of the bike/garmin is neccessary. Any updates/fix in progress to address this issue @JanCapek ?

Hi Jan, a very quick question please, I use a garmin edge 520 plus with your app and it works brilliantly, I have just been offered a garmin edge 1000 at a great price......will it work the same with your app as the 520? Or if anyone else knows the answer please?

I have / had it on my Garmin 520 and upgraded to a 530. It works the same as it did on the 520.

Been using eBike field on my Garmin 830 and Kenevo 2020 fine then I turned it on on Sunday and it doesn’t display the battery and assist mode anymore ? just has E-bike and ——- no values and can’t seem to get it to re- connect any ideas ?

Since I have updated my Garmin Edge 530 to 8.1 the Ebike field is now crashing (IQ icon), will you please fix it @JanCapek ?

I'm in contact with the developer. I'm using Garmin1030 plus and had this issue.
From Garmin version 5.0 more unstable than before.

He is working on a solution

Meh... what Garmin broke this time.. It is never ending story.

As I don't currently gets crash reports (another of their millions of issues) from the app, can you please share more detail? Is it crashing immediately after you open activity?

Can somebody with this issue please connect Garmin to USB and send me these files? /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/CIQ_LOG.* ? Thanks

and was expecting app to find bike but nothing.

where am I going wrong. Is there a written instructions anywhere I can follow.
Like I said totally new to garmin.
also using an iPhone incase that makes a difference. Cheers in advance.

After you install this datafield you have to edit/add a custom datafield and then you add 'Ebike field' datafield ...

PAIRING WITH EBIKE:

To pair ebike with datafield, just keep Garmin device with active datafield near the turned-on bike until it starts to show battery level of bike. This should take few seconds. After that datafield will save ID of bike so it will not pick other bikes later. In case you want to pair datafield with new bike or battery, go to app configuration via Garmin Connect Mobile and set 0 to DeviceID field. If your Garmin supports connection to Ebike via Sensors menu, you must disconnect it from there, otherwise Ebike Field will not be able to connect to the bike (it has implemented its own connectivity). Do not use this datafield with Specialized or my other ebike datafield in one workout as this will prevent ANT+ communication with bike to work properly.

INSTALLATION (non-touch devices):

- After download, you must go into the activity where you want to use this datafield

- Then go into Menu-Activity Settings-Data Screens

- Select screen where you will want to see this datafield

- Then select on chosen datafield: Connect IQ – Ebike Field

You need to disable the standard e-bike. After that the app can find bike and give you battery info

I downloaded the ebike field for my Specialized Creo SL. It'd be perfect for me except for the fact that it only displays the percentage of battery remaining for the main battery, not taking into account the additional percentage that should be added when using the Range Extender battery. It works fine with the level of assist though.

As a result, I had to return to selecting, in Mission Control, the option of letting cadence display battery percentage remaining (thus losing the cadence reporting which is okay for me as I instinctively know my cadence after riding for more than 40 years) because doing so does take into account the Range Extender when used. As a result, I use Garmin's ebike data field that displays the assist level (0, 1, 3 and 5) while using a separate data field (cadence) that displays the battery level.

It would have been GREAT and PERFECT if only the ebike mode found in the IQ apps worked to take into consideration the very real probability of the user having a Range Extender connected.

Another using feature would be continual updates for range based on the simple math involved in taking the total mileage travel and dividing it by the percentage of battery used to date on the ride and then multiplying the result by the percentage of battery remaining. For example, if you used 20% of your battery and traveled 10 miles you're using 2% per mile. With 80% left (or less if you don't want to go below 5%) your range remaining would be 40 miles. I do this in my head while riding but it seems to me that a data field can be created to do the same continuously.

Has anyone been able to get the 2022 Levo to pair with Jan’s ebike field in garmin?

I know specialized changed something for 2022 mastermind Tcu, but i can’t find anywhere if this app was also effected. And yes, I know the mastermind can show me assist and battery. I like the reporting that’s in the premium version of Jan’s app that goes to my garmin ride report.
