Where are you riding this weekend?

I did the White Peak trail and the Derbyshire dales loop on Sunday, 28 miles and 2800+ feet of total ascent so not a big ride but definitely a fantastic one and one I’ll do again soon 😉

We’ll try Whistler before the snow flies but a possible detour to Squamish. Now that I know there’s more than just rock-slabs. And apparently there’s some HT friendly (and wife friendly) trails up there.
I didn’t hit the Whistler bike park …but my nephew did.

I’ll let him use my Powerfly HT And take him high up Burke Mountian …again …tomorrow.

Yes there are many trails! You can easily pedal between Atholl, Birnam, The Mast and The Hermitage. Each hill has quite a different character. Birnam is probably the easiest. There is some absolutely wild stuff at The Hermitage! Recommend parking at Carly Car Park or the railway station. There is an absolutely phenomenal food stand at the station too.
Dunkeld still good may go there next couple of days

Last weekend, I rode here:

I know it looks barren, but these hills are quite lush this time of year, Come summer, this will all be brown. The only forest I could ride in, is either under snow, or on the coast, with rain damaged trails.

We did 20 miles, 10 out and up, and a return. We saw 2 other folks, one hiker & one biker.

Was a great day & I got a really good workout.

This weekend, well, let's see where I want to drive to. Probably a similar area, but closer to home.

John.

Had a pretty cool experience this past weekend. There's only one MTB trail on the mountain, it's rated black on Trailforks, and there is not a single video of it anywhere (youtube, trailforks, reddit). I really wish I brought my camera with me as I would have loved to have recorded the ride, but I left it at home for some silly reason.

The trail is called Eric Dunning in Golden Ears Park (https://www.trailforks.com/trails/eric-dunning-trail/) and it was steep and janky with some off camber turns in some parts alternating with high speed flow. Not a trail I would ride often because it's a 6 km climb with a much shorter payoff and there's nothing else to ride there, but riding something that has zero media out there and no idea what it's like was pretty fun.

This weekend I'm finally going to visit Greenhill Bikepark for the first time. Taking my 9 and 11 year old kids with me who will have a beginners course (while I can hopefully check out the trails on my own 😏). Now hoping for dry weather and that everybody will find it enjoyable 😀.
