When I first saw your response post I thought you were gonna guide me through the “self-ignore list” method. After consideration I changed my mind …I might be trapped in a time-warp-loop.

The 170mm dropper on my new Mondraker was too long, there isn’t much insertion depth on the frame, so I had to have quite a lot of lower tube out of the frame and about 45mm of upper tube not used. Really awkward to get back to my pedaling height after dropping it as well.

So I found a ‘cheap’ AXS dropper and re-purposed a right hand AXS shifter pod to the left (just flipped the holder onto the MMX bracket on the left side) and it looks a lot better and when extended goes back to my perfect seat clamp to saddle rail height.

Also fitted the little holder that can either take the Powermore 250 or a water bottle cage.

Finally also fitted a Zeb ‘mudguard’, which will do a bit.

After testing the Maven b1 kit on my wife’s bike. I put a set on mine.
Yes I do think they modulated way better now.

I added Galfer Purples to the b1 kit and find the brakes to be perfect for me.

I may give some Absolute Black pads a try. Seems to be just enough online about them, to “bite” the bullet.
I like the Mavens, however they do end forward momentum a bit abruptly. It’s why I like them. Paradoxically……….
I could stand to lose less loss of speed from them, but I’m over satisfied with the current rate of speed loss. just need to smooth out the ramp from fast to slow.
Will report if I switch to AB graphene.

Mavens are strong. I like them.

Better modulation would be great in circumstances where a little is good and a lot is too much.
Absolute Black pads are said to provide better modulation. So I can slow down in finer increments. Means higher speeds overall.

That’s why I use the purples. Great modulation and easy to ramp up the power. I’m in the rocky desert so rear lock-up is less than wet soils but, before the b1 and galfers, I could inadvertently lock the rear in the asphalt parking lot.
