What did you do to your EBike this week?

I’ve just shared my thoughts on both the Smashpot and the Avalanche open bath cartridge here, might be useful if you’re curious:
Yeah, I looked at the Avalanche but in the UK it basically costs the earth

I am tempted by the FAST SC5, but as I’m skint I’ll probably just swap the MoCo damper out for the new Isolator one.

I must point out that although previously I’ve always been a snob and had more fancy suspension my Domain Gold R worked absolutely great in the Alps this year and was super comfortable at handling both big hits and fast braking bumps. I didn’t really need anything better, I just want it. It was way better than my previous OG Domain DC, Totems, OG Lyrik, Recons and OG Pikes that I’ve owned years ago despite being basically the same damper.

And I’m not really looking for a coil conversion as I like the adjustability of air forks.

Vorsprung smash pot…. Look no more. The best part is the hydraulic bottom out

I’m not really after a coil fork and it’s the damper itself I want to upgrade rather than the air spring which I’m quite happy with. I’m actually pleasantly surprised and happy with the fork as it is, I’m just greedy. The chassis and air spring are brilliant, and the extra 200g of weight probably more to do with it having about 200ml more oil in the legs than a Zeb.

MRP damper. I put one in my 38 and it was a huge improvement ! Then I added a smashpot. Which i like but the MRP made a bigger difference.

Then I decided to give this a try and put my 38 on my Heckler SL. Only one ride and jury is still out on this I made no adjustments the first ride and didnt ride well as I just came off a big crash the day before. But tomorrow I’ll take it out and give it a better whirl. Very nicely made and I like the look.. It felt a lot like my 38 with MRP and Smashpot. Sounded similar too. But I want to make some adjustments to it and ride it with some more mojo

After a small off and the master cylinder on the Magura MT7 bursting again ending my ride
I decided that it was either another master cylinder or new brakes

So new brakes sram maven ultimates
I thought the MT7 were powerful but these mavens are something else so pleased with the change

Now I can send back the Maguras for warranty as they want to entire brake system back and I wasn’t prepared to remove It all and be without any rear brake whilst it’s away being checked for them to say it was my fault anyway 😂. And get out of replacing the master cylinder

Might put the other burst one in aswell see if they replace both

@Snoggin i’m pretty sure the MRP doesn’t fit in the Domain (I’ll check), but those Push forks look lovely. Are they heavy?

1. The cheap rear hub chinese folding bike: replacing and greasing the cup and cone bottom bracket, replacing chain, cleaning drivetrain, replacing rear tire.
2. Modified Giant TalonE: cleaning the under body, decomissioned the energypack socket and replaced with aftermarket socket.
3. Bafang 48V500W midmotor (not yet fitted to a bike): decomissioned the controller and replaced with generic controller with S861 lcd.

We have a what did you buy for your ebike thread, but I don't see a What did you do to your ebike thread

I fitted the new Knog Oi Prima bell. (1st pic) They claim to have fixed the previous problem, that the previous coil spring design just didn't work. (2nd pic)

The tone is lovely; clear, penetrating and sustained.

The problem with being off work is that I can’t resist shiny new bits! 😂

Fox X2 on the Marin, quick shakedown ride later for a bigger trip next week. 🤞 These are supposed to explode regularly arent they or is that fixed now?! 😬

Would only go on reservoir down, to avoid the range extender when it’s on.

Do I need matching Factory Forks now?! 🤔

Turns out I did! 😂👍

Very happy with it now, couple of rides planned over the weekend.

It might even BE the same! Why should low-volume bike manufactures spend money on specifying paint colours when they can just use an existing one?

My first emtb was a 2019 Focus Jam2. Their "blue" was actually a PERFECT match for Peugot's Aegean Blue metallic. I have posted pics before, so I won't do so again, but trust me it was perfect. I got mine from Halfords in the UK (motor spares).

Dark times are coming so Installed Lupine to Levo. Cable ports are sooo much better on this gen3 than gen2. Great product this light, has been two winters on gen2 Levo and one on Bullit and still going strong. Lupine has best customer service at any brand I have dealed.

Also changed rear brake adapter which have hurt my eyes since I bought the bike. The Galfer one is my spare which I used when I changed my rotor from 200mm to 203mm but the original is similar. Shimano is better for the eye 😀

I think I might have to dig out my light and see if it still works. Just in case I get an evening off.

Nice… excuse my ignorance, do these run off an AUX battery, or are they rechargeable via USB ?

Finally gave up trying to get the rear brake right. The problem is that my second finger is getting squashed when I brake. Wind the lever out I hear you say! It is fully wound out and that's with new pads in, when the lever should be fully wound in. It is as though there is not enough fluid in the brake system. There is no sponginess and the lever doesn't improve with pumping.

It has been fully bled by the LBS. It has had a new set of pads. I have done several lever bleeds, each time getting 1 or 2 small bubbles out and some very small bubbles out as well, almost like effervescence. All without any noticeable effect. The last bleed I did, I followed a suggestion from on here to wind the lever all the way in and repeat the bleed. Same outcome, 1 small bubble and a bit of fizz. Only difference to previous bleeds was that I had to wind the lever back out to stop my finger from getting squashed. ie back to the current "normal".

I'll be taking the bike back to the LBS, who to be fair, have never failed me before. Unless you guys have any new ideas? :)

I have moved the lever inboard so that at least my finger isn't getting squashed anymore, but the set up no longer feels right.

What brakes are they and what fluid, mineral oil or DOT? Have you pulled the rubber shroud back at the lever hose connection and checked for weeps and the rear hose to caliper entry and the rear bleed port also for small weeps?

Rode with wife this morning. We both got covered with muck up our backs after the heavy rain in the last few days. So this afternoon put the Mudhuggers on our bikes. They do look ugly but not as ugly as our backs were.
