Two minds - Canyon Spectral:ON

very nice mate, just keep your eyes open as the day after i had the payment taken email they shipped it ??

Really really hoping that happens with mine. And that it gets the documents sent with it .

Need to get some 3M bike tape ready. Fitted invisiframe on my last bike but he hasn't got a kit for these yet and don't fancy another trip to Shrewsbury. Probably just tape the underside of the down tube and top of the top tube. What's the chainstay protector like? Pretty solid?

Yeah pretty solid

? Almost glad you bought it yet? You think it's better than your mates Focus?
The Focus I tried was at a demo day. My mate has a Cube, his is different 170mm travel 2kg heavier but a bit more heavy duty than the Canyon. In comparison the Canyon is much more like a regular bike than an ebike, nimble and playful. His is built like a tank with the best components available, Fox Factory suspension, shimano Saint brakes etc

I'm really loving it. I took it to trails that I went a few weeks ago with my normal enduro bike to compare and I had much more fun on the Canyon, it's so stable over the jumps. It just takes some getting used to and a little more effort to get it into the air (cased a good few jumps) Got another small video coming on Youtube were I tried my Gopro 5 instead of the 4. The 4 is definitely better for gimbal footage and audio

video is uploading as we speak. I will throw a link in here but it may be worth following me on youtube. I will be taking the bike to antur stiniog and revolution bike park soon for some real testing. Also Coed Llandegla next weekend weather permitting

Found you on YouTube. I'll look out for the new vid. Glad you're happy with the canyon. The spec on yours is pretty top end. Doubt many would notice much difference between the forks. I do prefer Shimano brakes myself but codes are meant to be great.

Setup tubeless today, extremely easy but the tire sidewalls feel very thin to me. I've always had DH casing on my other bikes. I will reserve judgement for a few weeks and see if I get any issues.

Just waiting for the opportunity to pop down and collect my bars from the bike shop and then I'm all sorted.

What bars?

Got some valves and Stans ready for mine as well. Double downs would be better you reckon?

I ordered some Saint brakes which were delivered today. I had some Evans vouchers. £280 for the set and I reckon I can get about £200 for the Zees on eBay. Saints look so good. Better than the Hopes I reckon.

I've ordered Raceface Sixc 820mm. They called me today to say they had arrived at the store

What's it like nowadays haven't been for century's
I imagine it will be a lot more fun on the ebike :D I'll let you know after the weekend. I've only done the blue the last few times I've gone because the red had a lot more climbing and required too much effort to be worth it.

Nice. Upload some pics. Did you swap the dropper lever yet?
The before picture

This nut in the back of the dropper lever just spun inside the plastic, I had to twist and pull until I could slide it off the bars. ?

The new bar

All installed, I actually prefer the aesthetics of the original bar it's a lot more subtle but the new bars feel really nice.

Nice. ?. I think the new ones look better myself. Similar look to my RF Atlas bars with the writing on them. Never tried carbon bars. They absorb vibrations better?

Supposedly yeah, I've never done back to back runs with alloy and carbon bars tho. I think tire pressures and suspension makes a much bigger difference than carbon

The only downside about my bike so far has been the DMR death grips. They feel nice but after one ride they were discoloured

I managed to run out of battery with a few miles left today. I was having a really fun day until then :D.

Today was a hard day on the bike. The dropper post no longer works unless I pull forward with my bum and there is a lot of movement in it now. I will make sure it's nothing silly then will get back on to Canyon

Other than the dropper did the bike feel good? What sort of mileage did you do?

I had a KS Cruxi dropper on my last bike. Ran it for a year and worked solidly whole time. I swapped it for a fox transfer which was another level and sold the KS on eBay but is was still working really well. I used to unscrew the collar and pack some grease in every so often but didn't do any maintenance or servicing. Reviews say it's "durable and reliable". Interesting to test Canyons service though.

Not sure on the mileage today but 2 runs of the red with black bits thrown in. The odometer on the bike is showing 75km on the bike.

Bike felt pretty good, it sort of got shaken to death over the rocks. Rear brake worked loose and started rubbing but other than that and the dropper post the bike has handled everything I've thrown at it. It will be interesting to test it at Antur Stiniog or Revolution Bike Park.

So has everyone received their bikes now and are happy? As this thread was getting sobering ?

Mines due for dispatch next week. @dwr budr do you get an email to stay it's being prepared? Or just when it's dispatched?
Both if I remember correctly. Don't forget to a tracking number from live chat. On the DHL activetracing website you can put an email in to get updates when the tracking status changes

What sizing are they ? I heard german brands are slightly bigger bikes

I'm 5, 10 and gone for medium. Large seat post length was a bit too long. Reach etc on the medium was similar to my Whyte hardtail so should feel fine.

I was hoping for dispatch by tomorrow and delivery next week. ? Bit too hopeful I think. Any new with your dropper?

Embn you tube channel has took delivery of the canyon expect a few reviews from them I think it was the spectral 8
