Some good features on this bike, adjustable head angle, S sizing etc. Coming in at mid weight around 21/22 kg depending on spec. so good power to weight ratio.

Current SL with decent tyres about 19kg in XL plus 1kg for RE if you need it. So is there still a place for the SL I wonder? I do like the way the SL handles though.
Your joking right ? Do you have an SL ? My carbon comp SL with 160 lyriks and AxS is 17.4kg . Can get it even lighter if I used lighter tires .

19kg is base alloy model ..

As you are talking 22kg for new Levo the 3 new levo’s are carbon .. so the SL is still 4-5kg lighter

There is a handful of s works coming in. There are plenty of sad gits around offering money to jump the queues and get a bike.
It’s all relative. People pay a premium for an early slot for a hard to get car. Market forces my friend...

Got an S works.

Biggest disappointment I have ever owned.

The model is just a gimmick money spinner. I thought it might feel like buying an M car or AMG model but it couldn't be further from reality.

Same bike same performance basically same parts with a few gimmicks. The shine wears off fast and then you are just left wondering what else you could have used the spare 6 grand on.

each to their own buddy. Some might think an amg is a waste of money and not that special, or worth the premium....

Anyone can convince themselves of anything for a while.

Out of all the luxury items I've bought the S works left me the most buyers remorse.

If I had the choice I'd buy the Sworks frame kit and build the rest to my own spec. It would be far cheaper and actually a better bike.

A bit like buying an s5 or whatever. Mapping it to more than an rs5 and saving a few quid.

Doesn’t have an R on it though does it. Or the same aura....

I totally get what you are saying, but cos it’s not for you, shouldn’t do someone down if that’s their choice to spend their money on ??

No its not though.

Its an S works. Same frame same logo and colour. Same speed and power.

You can choose better brakes better wheels etc and with an 38mm ohlins it would actually be a better bike.

Its like making a custom RS5 not upgrading an S5 with a map.

why didn’t you buy a frame and build one up then?

Some people need a reality check it's just a pedal bike.

Well you are paying overs by default with all S works models.

You would need to be rich enough that money has no value to keep repeat ordering s works bikes
You continue to amaze !! Ok, you're entitled to your opinions .. but .... does it ever end ?

You spend months trolling all the Specialized threads telling everyone they were a rip off and only an idiot would buy a Specialized.

You bought a Decoy and then found you couldn't jump it because you didn't have a clue how to setup suspension - ironically, you now have the audacity to tell people they have their suspension setup incorrectly.

So that went and you bought a Kenevo !! (seemingly the s-works version ?? )

We then had months of you trolling the Decoy threads telling people how sh1t the decoy was.

Not to mention the Covid thread. When some people were concerned their business and income would suffer you pointed out how wealthy you were and anyone who hadn't sorted themselves out financially was a mug.

And now - you slate someone who has a 2022 S-works coming next week ?!?!? Good on them ! Why not if they can afford it/want it.

Have you EVER been happy for anyone else ever in life ??

I suggest therapy. Expert Level Therapy, not the usual S-Works Therapy you get which costs more and leaves you with a happy ending ..

Don’t agree,
By changing my bike every time a new model comes out the cost to change becomes less than if I had kept the bike a few years . Also then there is the cost of the fun factor. I ride my EMTB around 3-4 times a week have great fun on it. The cost of owning this time round is about 4K My other interest is taking my Porsche RS cars on track days around 20 days a year. The cost of this fuel, tyres, the event etc is many times more than what the cost of owning my S Works is. The ownership cost of my S works is actually a bit of a bargain taking into account how much fun I have on it.

@Citylad77 , Yes, you can do it quite clearly and , quite rightly, do what you want.
However :-

isnt so much a case of excellent man-math but surpasses even my wy wife's logic of saving more money if she continually buys shoes she doesn't need!;):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

PS .. This 2-way ignore facility is excellent. Only shame is I'll be talking to myself again soon.

I’ve been Y O L O may way through life last few years, had some stunning bikes. I think at the starting price point of these now it’s even put me of thinking of changing. £9500 for starting expert version... :(

Spesh has a funny relationship with the UK. It doesn't like selling frame kits here. This market is a cash cow. It didn't take long for people to start to work out that the s works models were actually more expensive than the sum of all its parts.

Frame kits were freely for sale in Europe though because the brand has much stronger competition there.

If it wasn't for the terrible reliability of the motor I'd have imported the frame kit but given the pandemic induced shortages there is a good chance the frame kit might never arrive this year.

This time I'm just getting the expert or pro depending on what is available and the prices. I just don't know when a proper delivery of stock is coming in.

for someone who has a clear dislike for specialised, and spends a lot of time hating on the brand and owners.....I’m surprised you are already lining up the next one ?

or prepared to go through the trouble of importing and building your own.

maybe try another brand mate. Might make your world a sunnier place ?

Well you do agree. You fit in to the bracket of people that I described.

Track daying RS porsches isn't exactly budget fun is it. 99% of people wouldn't consider blowing a set of cup 2s on a track in a 160k motor to be normal either.

Also you are basing your prices on pandemic stock levels. Raceco cycles were selling 18 month old S works levos for 3.5 grand only 1 year ago. I know because my mate bought one. They were basically worthless before the stock shortages now a 2018 old frame levo carbon is going for 3k on Facebook.

Anyway I wasn't saying its a bad bike or a bad buy I was just saying that its overpriced for its performance and you need to have a very specific relationship with money to justify it to yourself.

But let's not kid ourselves 14.5 grand for a pedal bike is insane. That's like 25 grand gross earnings before tax at 40% which is 25% of your gross pay on a 6 figure income.

but we’d all like to be tracking RS’s though wouldn’t we ??

And tbh mate, if you are smart enough Or lucky enough to partake such a hobby, chances are you’d buy your s works and offset the tax and actually get it for 60% of rrp.

not gross it up before earnings ? then sell at a good time and recover almost all of your purchase price....

I’ve blown mad money racing bikes and spent more in a weekend than by bike costs doing so. Which ‘normal’ people might think is insane.

but I was in a position to do so and it was important to me.

did I buy an S works, no. As I didn’t see the value (for me) at the time being new to eMTB/mtb. Would I buy one next time.... hmmm tempting

Not sure what you mean. I have been doing track days and racing Porsches for 30 years, that’s not about to change. As for the S Works EMTB before I purchased my first one back in 18 I tried about 5 other bikes from other brands. To me the S Works was the best, like with everything the best never is cheap. My cost to change is based on what I have got back for my 21MY after one phone call. I take your point that the S Works is expensive but look at the cost of other high end bikes they are all in the ball park. But as an overall package IMO the S Works comes out on top. I guess the cost is all relative to each individual. Can not wait to get my new Bike next week have some great rides planned.

I did try one and it was worse.

Even if I did want a different bike I can't as I'm locked in to this brand for this next bike for various reasons. To change brand I'd have to find a new dealer and that adds more risk. Ebikes are generally terrible for reliability and I cannot fault specialized for its warranty attitude.

I dont dislike the brand or company I dislike its reliability and spec and pricing.

that’s a shitter being locked in then mate.

never heard of a bike prisoner before but hopefully you get out on good behaviour soon ???

What date have you been given to collect it? 23rd or 26th have been kicked around. Blue/black or White/silver?

Honestly, Spesh is building some badass Bikes with a fantastic Geo, said that, the quality and reliability is far from good, I really hope they learned from the past and improved it where it was necessary.
When it comes to pricing, it's far beyond what the bike is worth. It's the badge you are paying for. I owned in my life some Porsche too, and quality is so lala, it's again the badge you are paying for and the superb Marketing they are doing.
Is it worth? Well, if it makes fun why not...?!

Don’t think they would be telling the dealers that they were going to get the Bikes if they were not going to arrive.
I am sure some will arrive. I know from other industries during product launches and tight supply that an order and cast iron promise of 12 arriving by Friday, could become 10 delivered on Friday, with 2 to follow... Fingers crossed we are in the 10!

Is your dealer fitting the film or do you get that done elsewhere? Would be interested to hear more about that. What / where ? Thanks
[/
Dealer will be fitting the film, but it’s supplied via outside co. Well worth fitting, the main reason I got almost 9k for my 21MY was due to the fact the paint was like the day it was new. My S Works before pic below was well marked and chipped.
