Exactly that... Some new bikes are not as good as the last model, going off subject a bit but the rr6 (2006) Honda fire blade was and still is the best bike, look at Moto gp a lot of riders are faster on older tech, ultimately if your happy with your bike, ride and enjoy it, never mind what the jones’s got, just keep friendly with ur lbs if it’s brose powered..

Following...about to pull the trigger on a 2021 levo comp tomorrow (@ pre price increase)....as long as they don't change the motor, I won't be disappointed if I get the 2021 now instead of 2022.

So LBS are saying they are coming in April with the same motor?

I managed to get in contact with some other shops and they said that, although they don’t have much information, apparently the bikes should be presented around mid/end March, available in April but only in limited quantities and it should be only the S-Works and Expert models, the other ones probably towards the end of the year

I don’t normally care too much about colour as your sat on it, But.... All them hours pushing the thing back home you do need to at least like the look of it, mines raw carbon, if I shut my eyes I could draw every strand of carbon on the left side of that bike

If the loam wolf was test riding it then its because specialized didn't feature very high in their shootout and they probably want to improve that.

The loam idiot doesn't really hold much sway with me when he slated the 2019 YT and the 2020 won the shootout and its the same bike. He defended it by saying the shock had a different tune. I spoke to a suspension expert who confirmed that shock tunes just change the start and end points of adjustment and basically he clearly didn't know how to set up his own shock if he thought that would make enough difference to do a 180 degree about turn in opinion. What they didn't tell you was that YT had a little word with them pre 2020 launch of the YT decoy

Truth is that these youtubes are digital prostitutes and their opinions are for sale to the highest bidder. In reality half can't ride as well as some of the people on this forum.

Some are better than others but most will never criticise a bike brand for fear of being cut off from special treatment.

Yet you yourself had a thread about how bad the Decoy was and how it was actually impossible to jump with the bike.

For weeks before that you shoved it down our throats about how crap Specialized bikes were, how much of a rip off they were and how only dentists and idiots would buy one ..

Then you sold the Decoy and bought a Kenevo ! You're not actually secretly the Loam Wolf but doing some clever behind the scenes manipulation of the publics minds are you ?? ;):ROFLMAO:

Since then you've complained about the Kenevo .. bike racks and pretty much anything else you seem to have bought - and now you're complaining that people don't make video's that complain enough.

Youtube is there. Why not get out there, setup the True EMTB channel and make some quality content for us all to be enlightened with ?? ?:poop:?? DO IT ! DO IT ! DO IT ! DO IT !

But as it is it's an incredibly capable bike ?! Also, very popular ! Look at the completion. It has more battery and weighs less.

It has a 700wh battery, quiet motor, powerful motor, is nice to ride. It's capable. It's already made the move to 160 front.

You say motor development is slow ? In only a few years we've had the 1.2, the 1.3 and the 2.1. They introduced a lightweight Mahle motor to MTB's with the SL. You of all people will be the first to complain and say "Motor development was obviously rushed" if they have even the slightest issue.

They can't just lob out a new frame design every year, it's unnecessary for starters.

And yes, the 2023 bike will probably be a new design as they move in development cycles. Maybe even a new motor. But we live in the now and not the future .. By the way, if you want to wait, I've heard the 2027 bike will have a new frame and a completely different battery - New colours too !

I am with you....the reason you go with the Levo is that Spesh has the best motor / software integration along with their customer support. I am not getting a Levo for the frame, suspension, mechanicals, etc. The other manufacturers have caught up (or maybe even better) than specialized when it comes to the non-electronic aspects of the bike. My analog bike is not a Specialized because the value isn't there in my opinion.
 
I got to this thread after Chris1969 deleted his posts. What are the rumored changes to the 2022 Levo? And when is it dropping?

:) Still there. But didn‘t want to cause trouble the first day around. So no pics, but this: Fox38/Fox X2, mullet setup, display on the TCU, Magura brakes, T7/T9 tires, same motor, seemed longer. I‘m waiting for the Kenevo SL...

same with the SL: i ride mine with Mullet, Cascade link, better brakes and Grip2 Damping = much better. Especially because the AXS dropper battery doesn‘t rub on the *edit* TIRE anymore :)

Unless it’s totally changed it’s probs will be a stop gap till the next version. So many rumours of what it will be. Probs based on the new stumpy evo but with same motor etc.
the enduro SL is what I want to see, maybe lucky it comes back end of the year but March will see a new levo in expert and s work models apparently ?‍♂️?

this Bike (Kenevo SL) comes like the Picture. No unseen Motor, Mahle with few more Nm. Bike is finished, Release Date was planed beginning 2021 but is pushed. some say April, some say middle, some end of year. this is told from few sources.
...and i cant wait till i get one.

The problem with the SL for me is the geometry - I have been waiting since they day it was announced for them to bring out an Evo version, along the lines of the Stumpy Evo, which of any current regular MTB I have riden comes closest to the term quiver killer.

It surprises me that they have gone down the Enduro SL route rather than an Evo version (although who know what might be coming), but I can see the appeal of the bike, as the Enduro isn't really a bike park weapon for lapping parks, but a killer enduro bike designed to be ridden at full bore all over the shop - its a bike designed for going as fast as possible, rather than for jumping playing around on, if you want to go throwing shapes everywhere then the Status or Stumpy Evo is a better bike.

Who knows maybe they will up the power slightly and have a bigger battery?

I know a lot of people who like the SL as a concept, but dont like the geometry, and that has held them off buying. The SL is a super fun bike, you only notice the lack of comparative power if riding with a bunch of riders on more powerful bikes. Its also far less knackering to ride IMO, as for me at least the weight of the full power bikes, especially the latest crop that come in at 24kg plus, is what takes its toll and knackers out my upper body. I found the SL to be considerably faster to ride back down once you had got to the top, but is geometry limiting as to what you could ride back down, as whilst a very capable bike it was shorter than I am used too, and felt a bit sketchy as result when cranking up the speed.

The main issue for me is that any of these new bikes is going to be crazy expensive!
 
TBH if you have a good bike now that you like, I cant see any reason to buy any of the latest bikes, nothing out there thats game changing, or quantifiably better in any way part from maybe looks.

The only thing that will be of real interest to me is a proper sub 20kg enduro EMTB.
 
The Levo SL with a suspension/brake upgrade is a very capable bike. I have had no problems leaving behind an array of proper enduro bikes (both mtb and emtb) on anything bar proper world cup level DH trails and I am no expert rider, far from it.
A proper enduro SL will be just sublime. Even with the current motor, 45 nm would be a decent upgrade to power but if you find 35nm not enough to climb up to Gravity trails then your obviously not very fit. Like at all.
If your climbing up to proper DH trails then your probably on the wrong bike anyway.
 
Agree, for me the SL just didn’t have the right fit compared to what I usually ride and like, and I am not willing to drop big money on a bike that is t fundamentally right for me. Also not really a 29r fan.

I am really not interested in motor power etc - really all I care about is how the bike rides on the trails, full fat or lightweight they all get you to the top easy, what’s important is how they ride when the motor isn’t needed.

I have posted this in other threads, but if the sling the SL system into this then my credit card is coming out.

Stunning that, my mate has it and it’s a weapon. Still can’t catch me on the SL tho.

ive had my SL about 9 months now havent used much lately due to work etc but I’d say I ride some of the steepest and gnarliest tracks in the uk (lakes,golfi,inners etc) I don’t have any issue with the geo. My other bike is a mega tower which I live for uplifts but my SL can ride everything just as good and most of the time I’m faster. Yes the original spec isn’t the best but I don’t really need massive geo change. I ride an xl which is the same reach as my mega large.

only thing I’d like is a tiny bit more power for smashing solo rides out faster,
 
Yeah I tried and XL and an L, the XL fitted better but the stand over was too high for me.

Was really annoying TBH as the bike was a lot of fun to ride, definitely best jumping EMTB I have tried ( not hitting anything big, but super easy to pop off trail features) but I just didn’t get along with the fit enough to pull the trigger. Basically felt like I was sitting more on the bike rather than in it if that makes sense.

I think the SL concept is perfectly suited to my local riding in Surrey Hills, as there nothing super gnarly here and no crazy long climbs, what you are really looking for is a burly trail bike that’s easy to manoeuvre on the trails and can handle being thrown around a bit and the odd (or frequent in my case) sketchy landing.
