Transition Regulator SX / CX - moving to Bosch?

Looking at the specs of the cx models I reckon with the same build kit the weight would be comparable to my alloy levo SL2 which is pretty mad for the battery size and motor. Anyone want to buy a SL2 frame? 😂

Is it so light? Because Pinkbike reviewed it and it was 21 kg. I think Levo SL2 is much lighter.

My alloy levo SL 2 weights just over 20kg.

With out boring you too much, it's a fairly normal 12 speed mechanical build with exo+ tires, lyric and ex511 wheels. I don't think there would be much difference.

Per Transition’s FB post:
SX - 18.67kg
CX - 21.31kg

Both of these seem light, that’s probably a small frame with no pedals and lightweight tyres, but it’s competitive. IIRC my KSL was around 18kg stock without pedals, which has a much less punchy motor and smaller battery.

Yah, I hate for it to be true but I think the Fazua in the future will only be used in Porsche e-bikes and my own Relay, while still fantastic to ride, is obsolete.

PB's size Large Regulator CX weighed 47.25 #s/ 21.47 kgs with pedals installed.

What size you have. My Kenovo SL S3 weights 19,2 kg with pedals and I thought that Levo SL is lighter
 
I read on another thread about the Bosch motors getting a power increase, I wonder if the sx will too? Would make the be regulator sx a real beast I reckon.

I'm presuming you can't run the 600wh batteries on the sx motor?

You can, if it fits in the frame is a different question.

You can run all SX bikes with the RE anyway giving 650wh for longer rides
 
So glad to see Transition moving to the Bosch SX motor after the debatable Fazua. I've always owned Transition bikes and almost pulled the trigger, but because of the Fazua motor, I purchased the Devinci E-Troy with the same geo: 160 front, 150 rear

I'm hopping for the SX boost and the better display. At that point, I might be ready to upgrade. Otherwise, the Fazua-powerd Pivot Shuttle SL has been great for me. It's 40.81 lbs and has been fantastic.
 
Received my CX today, immediately stripped back to frame and shock and rebuilt with parts I had from a previous build, plus a few new bits.

So I've gone for a sortve strong but light build, I live in the south of England and mainly ride small bike parks and more traily stuff. I weight about 80kg. I'm personally a big fan of the lyrik and it works well for me and the style of riding I do, I also own own a DH bike for bigger riding.

Anyway, here it is weighting in at 20.1kg with out pedals.

First ride tomorrow, fingers crossed it's enjoyable.

Large frame
Rockshox super deluxe base
Burgtec ride high bars
Burgtec MK3 stem
I9 1/1 hubs on ex511
Dissector rear exo+
Dhr2 front exo+
Lyrik ultimate
Code RSC brakes, centerline discs 180 rear, 200 front.
SRAM 90 derailleur, shifter and cassette
Xo chain
180mm one up dropper (may change to 210)
Specialized seat (bridge?)

Standard cranks (probably change them as they look cheap😂)

So there's still scope to save a tiny bit more weight if you wanted too. living where I do I don't need double down tyres or big forks so I guess that's probably where most weight is saved.
 
So it rides very much like a transition, very playful ,at 6ft a large doesn't feel that big. The rear end is slightly longer than what I am used too and it feels very balanced for it both up and downhill.

In comparison too the SL2 motor it's almost silent, it feels like it has less resistance too. Range wise I did 20 miles on emtb, unsure of the elevation as the Bosch app doesn't seem to say that. I was very tired yesterday so I didn't opt for a lower setting.

So far so good 👍🏻

22.1kg. I believe the quoted weight is 22.3kg.

So guessing my scales are slightly inaccurate but it does show a decent saving.

I've got a few bits to swap out so I'll reweight it on my scales and check against the bathroom scales.

Thinking the Lyrik over the Domain dropped a good amount of weight, plus losing the stock heavy wheelset too
