Hi, Can you please tell me what the "small trick" is because I want to buy dongle to update my TQ bike because the nearest TQ dealer is 70 miles from me, so 140 miles round trip + dealer Fee/costs IF I want to update.

It's not really a trick, more bending the truth - you just have to declare that you're a pro dealer in order to be able to download and run the software.

I did consider this BUT assumed no chance of getting away with a fake/made up a bike shop and I assume they will ask for VAT/Tax no. and loads of other business proof information ????

No, it’s fine. I can’t remember exactly as it’s been a couple of years, but I wasn’t asked for anything detailed like that, just name and address I think.

Why can‘t TQ simply deliver on enabling this through the app? That and other simple additions, like additional modes? (… yes, a rhetorical sigh of disappointment).

I know. TQ are still living in the early 2000s not yet having OTA sorted out AND the fact that When they do release OTA you STILL gotta visit TQ bike shop with a TQ dongle and pay again to have the shop do 1 more update to enable OTA.

Hello, everyone. I’m currently thinking about buying the dongle to update my HPR50. I’ve almost given up hope that this will ever be possible through the app. As much as I like the TQ motor, the app is stuck in the past—it’s from 10 years ago and just isn’t up to date anymore. The nearest TQ dealer is 50 km away.
If I want to register as a dealer with TQ, I have to provide a sales tax ID number to TQ, otherwise I can’t register there. Of course, I don’t have one. How did you guys solve this?

I just registered with tq fairly straight forward. No proof needed and have fully functioning software.

Hello, and thank you in advance for your reply. I’m from Germany, and since I don’t have a VAT ID—meaning I don’t have a business there—I can’t register.
Where are you from? Maybe there are country-specific differences.

What did you enter in the VAT field?
It doesn't work for me if I don't enter anything there.
I don't want to order the box and then find out I don't have access.
Maybe we should create a merchant account for this forum...

Hi all. I have 2023 Scott Solace eRide 20 and just updated it to the latest firmware via the Service Dongle/ Dealer Service Tool.

Curiously, before the update, when connecting via the phone app, the max watts available were 300W.

Now after the update, the max is only 255W.

Anyone else seen this?

Did you ever figure this out? Same thing happened to me after a dealer update today.
