The New Official BLEvo Thread

Am I the only one having issues with Blevo shutting off less than a few seconds into a ride? Lately I need to keep checking and restarting Blevo. After the 4th or 5th try it will stay on for the remainder of the ride. No idea what has changed. This is with an iPhone if it matters.

I remember my Android version misbehaved if I didn't set location permission to 'all the time'. Maybe you got an update that modified your permission settings?

I keep my phone in my pocket with the password-protected lock screen active. I guess that means BLEvo is not running in the foreground, which is why the permission needs to be 'all the time'.

Doesn’t even look like that’s an option.

Hey guys,

I have a new Specialized S-Works Levo and I went to install the Levociraptor but the BLEvo app won't pick it up.

I did all the usual stuff with Bluetooth, resetting it and such. It won't scan the bike or ID the unit.

Also, I noticed the instructions are saying that the unit was suppose to have a 6 digit code with it. The only thing in the envelope was just the unit. No numbers on the unit either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

I'm pretty sure that is power delivered to the motor from the battery. Motor power delivered to the crank sprocket will be less than that. I don't know how efficiently the Brose motor converts electrical energy to mechanical torque. A quick search for "typical dc motor efficiency" suggests that the number is in the 85%-90% range for brushless dc motors.

731 * 0.90 = 658

It's been months now that Blevo disconnects from my iPhone if I don't keep the screen on. With the cold temps my battery gets drained in under 3 hours. Anyone else with this issue?

Anyone know how to get in touch with @PaoloBLEvo ? Looks like he hasn't posted since the Summer.

Can you use the o-sync remote to toggle Smart Power profiles? I don't see it as an option in the App.

After removing the Levociraptor my speedometer is no longer correct, it reads much lower.

Are there uninstallation instructions for resetting the bike back to factory default? I searched and found this article:

Levociraptor and Specialized: A Guide to Tuning and Maintenance

It includes a section "Why Resetting Your Specialized eBike Before Removing the Tuning Kit Matters". The article states

> 3. Go for a short ride and use the app to reset the max speed back to factory settings.
see:

How do I determine what the factory default "max speed" is for my bike? My Class 3 eBIke documentation states "You can cruise to 28 mph". Does this mean I should set the speed set to 45kph (28mph) before removing the Levociraptor or 25kph (15mph)?

Thanks for the help.

I've not heard of this potential problem before. I was able to remove mine and get a new warranty motor without doing anything. YMMV.

Don't expect much from the app developer. They have not updated the app in a long time and rarely if ever respond here anymore. If anyone knows where he might be answering questions please let me know. For you Levociraptor questions I would go to TraiWatts or wherever you bought it from and ask them. Good luck.

I certainly hope not. I'm still using it. My ANT+ fitness watch is starting to die and I need to figure out an alternative. I was wondering if Watchlink could be a solution to get an apple watch working successfully with BLEvo Pair Apple Watch to Peloton bike | WATCH LINK pod
For anyone wishing BLEvo would work with your Apple Watch I have successfully found a work around. It takes a 3rd party piece of hardware but it has worked flawlessly for my last 2 rides. Shop | WATCH LINK

I reached out to the developer of “watchlink” and got enough info I figured it was worth a shot. Only the Watchlink USB will work as the self powered “pod” only broadcasts ANT+ the usb broadcasts both ANT+ and BLE. I have a usb-c equipped iPhone and I use a 180degree usb-c to A adapter and my phone powers the Watchlink usb. Using a usb battery bank may be difficult as the Watchlink draws so little power the bank will turn itself off. At least the 4 battery banks I tried would all go back to sleep. The adapter solution works great drawing power from the phone.

I have no affiliation with Watchlink, I stumbled upon it while searching for a workaround.

Hi. Just waiting for my S-Works Levo to arrive. I've bought a Levociraptor and intend to use BLEvo (have used it on my Gen 1 Kenevo for the past 6 years). Does anyone know if I can customise the MM TCU screens through BLEvo, or do I have to do it theough the Spesh app before connecting the Levociraptor/BLEvo? Thanks

Since I don’t have a MM TCU I’m not as well versed but there are major compatibility issues with the mastermind that has essentially halted further development of BLEvo. You might want to dig through this tread to make ensure they will work together.

Yeah, I have read bits

This video (albeit 3 years old) suggests it works, but maybe there have been issues since

If it doesn't play nice, I'll just unlock the speed with the Levociraptor app and then use the Spesh app and deal with any motor issues as and when. It's a price worth paying to not have a stupidly low speed restriction.

I must be kind on motors - had 6 years out of my Gen1 Kenevo without killing it :)

Hi im new to this just got a specialised fsr turbo 2018 model will blevo allow me to move the limiter it's like hitting a brick wall when i get to the limit at the moment

Yes it will, just search for the bike and pair - look for the speed limit in the bike monitor section and alter it to what you want. Had it since new on my 2019 Kenevo

Hi sorry to bother you what bit do i change on this page then i am a bit confused by it all many thanks i have paired it just not sure what i change

Hi, no probs - where it says 50km/h - set it to whatever you want. Can't remember what you set wheel size as - will be the weekend to check mine, but the speed alteration will work regardless

That's amazing thank you. So do you need to set wheel size to
I think mine might be set to 2300, but I've no idea from memory what that is based on - that's only going to make small differences to how fast the bike (or app) 'thinks' you are going due to a bigger wheel taking less rotations to cover a greater distance. I'm not bothered about it being accurate, just as long as I don't have an actual reachable speed restriction

Yes i don't have a display on mine so accuracy is no issue for me either i will just use the blevo app to record my ride. Thank you so much for the help.

Hi was messing with it earlier and it wouldn't save but can only presume that is because i have the wheel size set to 2040mm . So will set the 2300 and try again.

Sorry but I didn't read this forum for a long time.
I always alive... :p
The app is not more updated because it is stable and I'm busy on my "real" job.
If you have any question please contact me to my private email
paolo dot dozio at gmail dot com

I will try to answer to this forum in the next days.
Sorry again

Since there has been no activity on this thread, has everyone given up on Blevo?
I still use it (UK based) and it’s one of the best tools for controlling an eMTB. Its a shame it won’t work on the newer models - mines a 2019 Turbo Levo - without additional gear.

My app was last updated on the 9th March 2025, so very happy that updates are still happening.
