Teaser for Shimano to Bafang M600 conversion 🤫

As an owner of 2020 Norco VLT’s both shimano steps e 8000…. I’ve enquired about upgrading with the ep8 s…. or latest and the informations returned to say….

Unfortunately it's not compatible rightaway. You'd need to use an angle grinder to remove or modify this part:

And one more time: You need to replace the Shimano BMS in their battery to use with Bafang. They aren't compatible (yet 🤫).

Just a teaser. Fully explaining all details when ready for shipping 😊

Hello, how much do the parts for converting EP8 to Bafang M560 cost? Do you ship to Brazil?

Hi Tomblarom, just thought to see wether conversion mounts have taken up with interest for the models 2020 Norco Vlt Range and Sight- Bangfang upgrades.....
l am happy to angle grind whats required for the fit....
Thank you....

Is that a Focus Jam2? If so, what year? Looks like my 2018 model alloy bike. How did he deal with the battery being that it has 2 x bolts that go through the frame and battery?
I can't tell for sure, because the frame is from a friend. He did all of this. If you decide to buy my kit, I can establish a contact, so you can ask him directly :)

The frame looks compatible! You just need to build your own battery, that replaces the stock Shimano one.. Can't help you with that. I can only supply the conversion. However, I know that some German folks did approach a very similar task: Steps-Akku Eigenbau, Zellen, Gehäuse, BMS

The amount that needs to be cut away is very minimal! I showed it in #40.

Isn’t that a little counterintuitive?

I’d be happy to buy your kit if I knew that there is an elegant way to power the system.

You’re saying buy this kit and then maybe you can figure it out.

Thanks again Tomblarom offering with encouraging news.... yes, looks to be a minimum frame grind that support your brackets... just now to convert German to English with the battery link.... Thank you!

Sorry, I did not want to make it sound like that. 😅 Send me a PM and we can exchange phone numbers. My friend is likely going to answer your questions, BEFORE you buy. 😊

You can use Google Chrome for live website translation. It's how I browse 4pda.to. 😅 For writing posts, I use deepL. Crazy times, that we live in. 😁

Simply send me a message, if you want to order a kit.. :)

My e8000 is still running well although i expect to be a customer of yours at some stage.

I did some research on batteries and found this crowd that may be a useful contact for you.

I would recommend contacting [email protected]. I turned a friend of mine that has an eBike store onto him and he now spends over $20k a year with DT he told me the other day. He told me a tale of how he speced a battery based on the customers battery shell dimensions and they made a pack with a BMS that slid right in using high quality components. Or for Bafang batteries in general as they stock the compatible cases and that is what I have used them for and always received great service and pricing.

Not that the gouach system isn't a good effort but it is focused on supplying batteries more towards the older outside the tube style batteries. And there are many of those out there in both mtb and commuter styles that otherwise would end up in the skip.

Would I be able to buy an adapter I have a voodoo zobop e (orange one) and it has the e7000 drive unit
My kit would work fine, but the frame has a spot that might collide with the new battery. Bafang batteries like the Reention DP-6 or DP-9 are longer.. In your case it looks like the marked part of the frame does not give structual support, so you could simply cut it away with an angle grinder.

Hey I am back and I don’t mind doing some grinding part because at the end of the day shimano is very shocking and to blow out on me the shimano after 3-4months is very annoying and ofcourse I need to cross reference where to grind off on the bottom iswell for the adapter kit you have many thanks Daley.

Hello good people. I read the whole thread in hope to find solution. Is there a way to get hold of mount which allows me to fit my bbs02 in EP8 frame? Found a guy named Patdam who solved it, cant pm him cos im new here.

At the moment I do not offer such a solution, but it's on my road map. What @patdam did, looks like a one-time job and I'm almost certain, that he has no plans for his plates. You'd need to make them yourself.

True, only one shot build for my whife (she still using). and y don't make bisness. i drawed plans, but longtime ago and not archived. But not complicated, if you have alloy weelding station and metal lathe ☺️

Hello. I dont but have friend with access to welding machine and lathe. Could you please PM me? I suppose its not just the metal side plates that hold the motor in place. I could really use as much information and tips as possible. Thank you.
