Yes I designed everything around them so that one can reuse them. I talk about the Bafang Skidplate and sidecover, not Shimano Covers.

Similar, but had to move it along the seat tube direction by around 14mm. See:

So You lower the BB of an existing frame by 14mm. Not bad, but important to know!

Working on it. Not yet, but yes my intention is to make the existing batteries work with Bafang. However you won't reach as much range and power as you'd with a custom build pack.

That may be the case for M500, but not for M510 and even less for M600. A lot people love tinkering and Shimano is closed. However frames that fit Bafang drives are often trash when it comes to geometry and quality. Other reason might be that one may convert his old Shimano bike sitting in the shed for a while now and revive it? I have a customer that has bought Shimano frames and Shimano won't sell him battery and motor. He asked me to develop a kit. Already had this in mind.

See? Plenty of reasons. Just want to satisfy the demand I hear from people

I just bought a second Shimano e8000 motor. Cost shipped was $1200. How much is your retrofit going to cost ? Shimano has decided to at least make motors available for purchase. The retrofit is ,I’m sure, a super fun mciver but is it really worth it vs slapping on a new motor???

This is definitely the way forward... All motor and frames should be modular, just need to sort electrics and your on a winner.

I am agreed with you most of the Bafang bike geometry and design didn't have a up today geometry and detail.
It would be a good solution to use the Bafang intefaxe but i think you also need to sort out to the motor can be work with some brand battery.

Couldn’t agree more, my orbea rise (or better still a 2023 green m10j with a m600 would be perfect. Is the conversion reversible and/or reusable on another bike. If the battery could be reused I may be very interested in this. Just a thought, Will the m60l run on 36V?

no, you need all from Bafang: Motor, Battery, Display, etc.
