SZZS specific CEF50-main thread (initial builds and troubleshooting related only)

I think Tom posted it in the ICR headset thread or I have a shot with the other components in the Spec thread.
I did get this email from Linda showing the top cap filed to reduce risk of cutting the cables.
Yes in the main spec thread about third picture down shows the headset pieces but not in high res.

That's a nice big opening with a rubber/plastic grommet insert.👍

One thing to consider is that the DPC245 display plugs (green triangular male end) is fairly sizable. It will easily fit and feed through the stock cap opening. And now that they blunted the sharp edges...less work on the build.💪

However, on some of the aftermarket ICR headsets, you may have to drill out one of the more narrow cable ports to pass through the connector and reseal it with your favorite method. It's a little bit of an extra pain maybe?🤔

My fix was to 3d print a TPU grommet so cables arent damaged but i’ll order a better one.

Today im posting all STLs

Almost there, today I should receive the RT-EM600 rear disc that includes the magnet for the speed sensor (magnet didnt came :/ ). Then a test ride.
it doesnt have the final wheels (1900g is this set) nor the carbon handlebar, lighter cranks or seat but it weighted 18.4k
Im pretty sure that it can loose 1 more kilo after the upgrades.

looking good! Did the frame come with that chainstay protector?

Here are all the STLs I used for the CEF50 frame, grommets and BT F014 battery support, any doubt or modification just let me know and i'll asses it :)

18.4kg! wow, well done, with the piggyback shock and "mid-heavy" wheels !

I'm quite impressed also!

Carbon cranks + lighter chainring: 200g less
Carbon wheelset: 400g less
Renthal carbon: 100g less
XT derailleur: 30g less
Saddle: 200g less (I use a 110g one always)
XT Discs: 100g less

That would make a nice 1030g less, resulting in what I was aiming, a 17.5k emtb :)

I will be drawing the top tube button cover gasket also today and uploading it on thingiverse. Want to make the bike as rainproof as possible, although here it never rains it'll benefit everyone that has a CEF50 in a more humid place.

DT Swiss M502 30mm 29"
Continental Trail King Apex / Mountain King protection tires
Octamousse rim protector

After bench testing the DP180 controller was throwing a 21 error (speed sensor).
I thought it was the custom magnet I was using but no, looks like the connector that's hidden inside the rear triangle was incorrectly connected (sideways). Had to straighten a pin, connect it properly and also added a layer of electrical tape so it keep tightly connected. I'll just order a spare "SR SD071.02" just in case.

Now tested it and works properly in the bench, even walk mode and error not appearing anymore. Either way since amazon is delivering the rear disc with magnet today I'll wait for it to arrive, change it and go for the first ride.

Photos don't make justice to the frame, but honestly its REALLY good looking, I love it.

To enable walk mode: Go to the no assistance mode, click twice the "down" button but on the second click keep it pushed. walk mode will be on until you stop maintaining the button pressed.

Hello how do i know what crankarms fits the m820? Any tips on lightweight pairs?
The M820 uses standard ISIS crank arms.
Miranda claims to have a lightweight crank and yet does not give the spec
They appear to be having a half price sale too.
"Try to find a lighter e-bike crank, we dare you! Our carbon fiber e-bike cranks have been engineered to produce a carbon fiber structure featuring an internal, proprietary crash-resistant composite. The design and materials composition make this crank — with its super strength-to-weight ratio — the lightest e-bike crank on the market."

I'm thinking on going towards the praxis since they're 375g the pair.

Weird that Miranda claims the lightest yet does not print what the weight is of the cranks.

First ride:
The engine has A LOT of power, really feels like a full powered emtb.
Need to get customed to the suspension since its quite dif to my other bike

Had some issues that the speed sensor moved and was failing but after retightening it everything went ok.
30km, 960m elevation and had 3 leds remaining, using mostly the second level since that was enough for me to go up at 15km/h

What full-powered motor could you compare it to?

I forget, U have 720Wh or 410Wh battery?

So curious about Rocky boost mode :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I suspect it may not exist. There are 5 power mode levels (on the DPC245 display)...so it would be easier just to click up a few modes to boost.

But the DPC-181 might have it. I ordered the 181 to test it out.

Side note: I've been using the DPC-245 on my M600....it's a major upgrade from the old DPC-242!💪

But yes curious if the newer tuning protocols just eliminate it altogether. 🤔
