SZZS specific CEF50-main thread (initial builds and troubleshooting related only)

Guys, did you find a long-term solution to shift cable housing being broken and shift action getting worse due to suspension work? In my first installation I let cable housing pass through the windows without any sleeves, the shifting quickly got worse after a few jumps & drops because the steel strands were broken by constant twists and as a result, the housing was crushed, causing lots of resistance. I was hoping that a rubber sleeve like the one used on electrical cables would stiffen this part of cable housing and so far, after few months the strands are still not broken, but the housing is still being compressed in the sleeve and resistance is growing. I really don't want to go electronic and replacing cable housing every few months is painful as hell (foam tubing to silence cable rattling requires battery removal)... Any ideas?

Hi. I am going to assemble frame this week, just wondering about linkage bolts, use supplied ones or put steel bolts instead and forget about further problems. Bought steel bolts just in case anyway.

Thanks

I don't think anyone has broken a bolt. They can loosen up and fall out if you don't check them, Use lock tight.
I mainly upgraded to Ti custom bolts for the bling factor and I just was unsure in the beginning. I had the main pivot bolt snap but it was 10 mm too short when they sent me one of the early frames.👑

Hi everyone,
Just finished building my cef50 small frame with 27.5 wheel.
Bike looks great and handles very nice.
The Bafang not so good.
I know it's a low powered motor but this motor is really slow even in boost. I think I can climb faster on a pedal bike.
I've ridden lots of ebikes and small motor ebikes but all had more power than this.
I've downloaded the Bafang go app
And tried to adjust the modes but it says can't connect.
Any ideas would be appreciated
Thanks

Try to calibrate torque sensor. It may help. My also had also very bad support. But as I was reading on internet I was thinking that is ok, as everybody said that don't has a lot of support. Turns out my motor was faulty. They replaced with new one and now fells like a new bike. Also motor is really powerful.

You can calibrate the torque sensor on M820 motor ?

Show us your parameters. what you expect ? which motors references you have ? and with which do you compare it ?

Off course M820 is less powerfull than other "full" motors (bosch CX, shimano, M510, etc..), But on paper more (never compared) than other "light" motors (TQ, fazua, +-= bosch SX ?). For my case (100kg), i can do the same tracks than full motor, for +- 1/2 less consumption (10Ah onwith M820, 17Ah with M510). Just less quicker and with walk mode on long climb upper 15%.

With both motors I have 2 options:
-Position sensor calibration
- Torque calibration
Yes, but at this time torque sensor calibration don't work for M510. but i haven't plugged it since long time, i will seen later 🤔

Hi I also had the same problem as you, little assistance you have to change the Firmware, this is for E-road, you have to put an E-Mtb Firmware, you will see a lot of changes, it will give you a lot of assistance, go to the Firmware for M830 forum, you will find the right one

Thanks everyone.
This is really over my head my I.T skills are very basc, but I'll do some reading over the next few weeks.
I emailed Jean today and she is getting Bafang to contact me.

Sound like I'll need to buy the besst tool or fined a local ebike repairer with one.

I'm using CRX30PC3615E102002.5
if you have beest tools install what I posted you will see that it goes much better also with App bafang go+ vers.2.2.0 you can change the parameters as you like plus you can store 4 settings for your engine
