Strava " Beacon"

In case anyone has not heard the Strava " Beacon" service has been enabled for free ( unsubscribed) Strava users on the phone app.
The Beacon service enables you nominate 3 contacts that will each recieve a txt whenever you start a ride giving your location..........they can then track you on the ride; so a useful safety feature for those only using Strava on their phone.

Seriously though that’s a good add on!

The beacon feature was the only thing I missed since unsubscribing from the pay service. Now it's included in the free version that's great!

Probably realized too few people would pay for a service that have been readily available to most phone/GPS users anyhow - Garmin "Livetrack" (which actually works rather well), Whatsapp's "share location", iphones "Find my friends", etc.
