Hey
So finally taken receipt of my 2020 Comp. Its stunning.... I can’t really ride it though... the dropper post won’t hold my weight. I’m only about 70kg’s so not like I’m testing it. I can even push it down with my hands and a bit of weight on top! The lever works as it should but the dropper just doesn’t lock out firm enough.
It’s a X-Fusion Manic. Should be a medium spec one which is the 150mm. From what I read the post should also be able to go in just over 280mm. Measuring that it would reach the bolt of the top part of the rear triangle into the seat tube so says to me that this post could actually be resting on the suspension bolt which is only about 200mm down.
Has anyone experienced the non-locking dropper and also, have I got it wrong with the bolt? It does feel like the dropper can’t go any further so I am assuming it is touching. I’ve pulled it up a couple of mm so it isn’t on the bolt but it seems concerting that the two components can be touching, or is that just normal and I need to be careful?
Cheers

You say the lever works as it should so try these first.... See if you can use the adjuster at the lever to create a little slack - that will rule out the cable being too tight. Then raise the post a couple of cm and try it - that will rule out resting on a bolt (not likely but easy to test). If still no go, take the post right out and try without the cable connected -cable should just be long enough but you may need to create some slack by turning the bars and undoing the clamps in the sidearm under the rear shock.

My manic fusion is the exact opposite - needs viagra or something as it needs assistance to rise up.?

if its been set too low it may have dislodged the cable attachment. Loosen the cable holders near the shock and feed through some cable whilst carefully removing the post from the frame to check it. You need to be ultra careful pushing the post back down in there. If it touches stuff below and it clamped up like that it causes problems. Be very careful not to overtighten the cable holders or the post clamp, the exact torque setting there is ultra important otherwise it will either move about on its own or lock up completely.
