Fortunately I don't use this all the time, but when I do it's completely random on speed, often times out, takes forever sometimes to load images or add a like.

It seems weird that BT would have a routing issue just with some sites, mainly ones which aren't buffering lots so I've been experimenting.

As far as I can tell, it's a problem with the router boxes.

Whenever you get the issue, turn the WiFi off on your device, wait a few seconds. Turn it back on again.

Performance returns to normal.

Will experiment with a new box and see what that does.

@Nicho @Rob Rides EMTB @Ou812 @Paulquattro sorry, can't remember who else was getting this.

Just recently started getting these problems ..more so with pictures which can take multiple tries before uploading.." parsing failure" ..whatever that means 🤷

I've checked your image sizes and they're ok.

Based on the information we have so far I'd say your issue is something similar to what @Zimmerframe is suggesting. Or you just might have been unlucky and there was some other issue as you were uploading your images.

Clearly there was an issue as there was only about 5 rather than the normal 20 😉

I use a cable connection from router to PC. After reading this I tried to open the latest Pic of the Day post and the photos failed to load. I then switched from cable to wifi, tried again and the photos all opened almost instantly. However, a minute later it had all slowed down again. Switching back to cable it was still slow.

Mine does it all other sites are fine this one very slow

I've had this issue a few times, the last time was a couple of months ago. I get to the homepage fine, click on a topic fine then next click nothing until "Page could not be loaded". Clicking "Reload" will usually but not always load the page.

I'm on BT and I tried different browsers, updating them, clearing cache, restarting my router etc. and nothing worked. Then after a few days the site works great again and I forget about it.

Yesterday I updated my Firefox browser and it offered a free VPN so I tried it and it worked. I switch the VPN on and the site works perfectly and stops working again when I switch it off.

I have had a similar issue for some time now using Firefox and it’s advert reducing technology. Switch off the add restrictors and the forum downloads normally but I have to say I’m getting fed up with the volume of pop up adds that now are appearing.

Again very slow today I used to think it was my old phone but have a new phone now and still the same some days the site runs fine

Same for me too, it’s extremely slow. I’ve tried off my WiFi because BT seemed to be the problem last time but it’s still slow. I got the “page could not load” error on 5G, refreshed and it loaded right away. It seems this is the only site that I have issues with though.

I have just tried the VPN trick and the Pic Of The Day page with all the photos loaded straight away,
so it looks like a solution.
It is strange that this problem only happens on this website.

I assume you are all on BT Internet?

If not, let me know what ISP you are using?

Yep, BT here. When I just hit reply it took about 8-10 seconds like it was thinking and nothing happened, it reloaded the same page. I hit reply again and it worked right away.

Runs a bit better if I close all other apps on phone and EE 4G

I couldn't get it to work on EE 5g yesterday. Normally seems ok.

Running on Android with Vivaldi browser.

BT internet.

Tried it with proton VPN free with everything left as auto/fastest and now pic of the day loads everything instantly and no need to keep resetting my WiFi.
