Its the dust cover between the crank and chain ring, remove it or put a little oil where its rubbing.
thank you! I put a couple of drops on it and I think it actually did the trick. I need to go on a proper ride to test, but by quickly trying it out it was quiet. Would never guess that noise comes from a rubber seal.

Kind of an unusual comparison, can you say more? I'd expect the Dread to be more of a ripper. Wondering what your thoughts here might suggest wrt weighing against to the new CorE.
The Vala is just a hell of a lot more fun to ride. Poppy, easier to turn and throw around. The dreadnought loves going fast but it struggles with turning and being thrown around.
I'm sure the Forbidden ebikes will be amazing.

For those who have swapped their rear shocks with a new Fox X2 or a Push SV8, can you please let us know honestly how it compare from the original Fox Float X ? and for those who changes the size of the shock to 205/65 if they really feel a difference ? Thanks !

I've rode that you had as well a Heckler and complain, like me, with the poor autonomy comparing to a Bosch engine.
Does your Vala, powered with Bosch Gen 5 and 600W battery; run "better and more", than the Hecler ?
What's about the geo ? Are they big difference, does the Vala is more capable on descent, more agile; or the other way ?

Thanks !

Has anybody heard about a software upgrade for the CX five motor that will increase the torque to 100+ Newton meters?

Rumour is that a software upgrade will be released in May that increases the motor performance.

I agree Mike,My wife has a Heckler 2024 model and I too think the Vala is a great bike ,I think the VPP will be looked back on as a better model.
The Vala is a bit too similar to virtually everything else and whilst that’s no bad thing, the Heckler has a unique look and feel.
Just my opinion guys, please don’t take offence.
And if you need a class 3 motor for your Heckler Shimano has them available..

The only review you need to watch!

Seems to tick many boxes for me, but still need to compare it to the Bullit , and only few review compare them.
Would like as well to see a review with a range comparaison, with and without PowerMore.

Is the peak power going to incerase too?
Peak power and sustained power and torque are different things. The Power ratings of the bike, like say 750 W, is the peak power that is usually only put out for a very short time and then falls back to some sustained power which I've read is as low as 250 W on a 750 W rated motor, but I can't find that source of that so it may be completely unreliable. ( A lot of people also confuse the wattage rating of a motor with the watt-hour capacity of the battery. Which sometimes have the same number, for example 750).

Just came here to say I love my new Vala. I have about eight rides on it on two different type of terrain. Dirt and that chunky rock. The bike handles so well and is super playful. I had a 2022 YT decoy so obviously the Vala is an upgrade but this bike is fun. It has a strong motor. I’ve pushed it to 22 miles with 4200 vert at 2 hrs and it had 22% battery left. Mixed in mostly trail and light boost. I’m going to ride again on trail mode later in the week until the battery dies. I’m pretty sure I can get 35 miles.

I’d say the only thing I’d like to add to this bike is a coil but that just preference due to the chunky terrain I ride at my local.

Has anyone added a coil to their Vala yet on here? I hear there’s only a couple compatible ones.

Hi, can anyone share pics of how flush the healthy looking bushings of the motor look? I am on my second set and the front one seems to be coming out again...

Hi, getting my Vala hopefully next week and wondering what's the max drinking bottle size for the L frame is? thanks

I can fit a full size bottle (26oz) in a SCB bottle cage slid down on my size Medium. I've heard if you have the range extender & the Bosch cage, you're limited to a normal size bottle.

Just find stupid from Bosch to tease new products from May 1st, but nothing available before July - August timeframe… next step will be teasing of teasing of teasing 😂

It's not as bad as Fazua announcing range extender literally years ago that still aren't available. Or announcing last summer a less crappy controller, and a bigger battery... that never materialized. Then repeating that same announcement early this year, still no availability date to dealers.

In the past Bosch has always announced major improvements in April/May and made them available in June/July. Nothing new here.

I have made 3 changes on my Vala last week after having seen the reviews of the new Bullit and the comparaison between Bullit Vs Vala.

1) I have increased the travel of my 38 to 170mm to slightly change the geometry and improve stability. Honestly it is very muddy where I'm riding so cannot confirm this. But it does provide more confort (was able to decrease pressure by 10psi)

2) Replaced the Maven by the Hope Tech4 V4. Having so much problems with the Maven, it's nice to ride with brakes that perform well

3) As my original Schwalbe were at the end of their life I replaced them with Continental Kryptotal (which I loved on my previous bike). Keeping a DH carcass for rear tire and an Enduro one for front.

The bike as really improve with the new tires. The Vala is quicker, lighter and more agile. I was not looking to save weight but we have weighted the bike before changes (21.98kg) and after modifications (21.46kg), so a weight shaving of 500gr which probably come mainly from the tires. It definitely improved quite a lot the bike !

I'm struggling with the Mavens too. They seem to be all or nothing...

I liked them at first but after a few months and a handful of bleeds I'm finding I have the same issues I always do with SRAM brakes: high maintenance and I can't trust the bite point to be where I expect it to be. So yes they have plenty of power, but that power is rarely predictable.
