ridecontrol app update 4.4 broke my odo

When i connected my wifes explore E+ 3 STA to the ridecontrol app there was an update 4.4. When it was finished the odometer was doubled to 3090 km from aprox the 1560 km who was the correct traveldistance.
Both the display on the bike and in the bikeinfo in the app shows the wrong 3090 km after the update. Very annoying to find that the update screwed up the ODO.

in the bikeinfo the version is: 20210105000, Giant explore E+ 3 STA 25 km/h

Suggestions are welcome both from users and from software devolopers at Giant!

Yes I use the new app and have upated with the new app before with no issues.

Well wife and me took the bike for a testride and everthing else looks fine, so I dont think the bug is critical at this stage but sure annoying that the bike show wrong odo after the update.

The other avenue would be to report it to the app developer I guess
