Reign E+ 2022

Interesting weights, we're all similar even if different sizes.

Do you guys still have your Reign E+ and plan on keeping it ? If not , what is going to replace it ?

I might replace mine for something lighter as I'm not doing long rides anymore and don't really care if I have a smaller battery to save weight. I'll get myself a portable power station and charge during lunch if I really need the extra range.

However I know deep down that I should just keep my Reign E+ :ROFLMAO:
I moved to a Mondraker Level 2026 : same weight but more range and more power.
That is what i was searching for.

I was considering SC Bullit witch was my favorite but no dealer near home :(
Orbea Wild 600wh carbon is a great bike too.

New Level is pretty nice, do you know much more range you're getting with the Bosch system ?

I recently purchased a Vala 90 (still have the Reign E+2). Tough the Vala rides slightly the same on fire roads, there is a world of difference on the trails. The bike is about 8 lb lighter, has a shorter chainstay, same wheelbase, a 600Wh non removable battery that covers 95% of my rides. I’ll be getting the Range Extender next year for the odd long ride. Love the new bike. Cheers! 😎

I was 750wh with reign : max 40km 1500m d+ with my settings
Bosch 800wh : 60km 2000m d+ with more motor assist

Reign E+ combined with the Syncdrive pro 2 motor was never efficient, but this shows how bad it is as per today's standard, thanks for sharing that.

I'm sure these newer Bosch 600wh bikes and the new Reign E+ with the 48V system have almost the exact same range as our 22-25 Reign E+ with the 800wh.

Flow MTB reported getting 1450m of climbing with the newer Syncdrive Pro 3 with the 560wh which is impressive.

I was considering a slightly(3kg) lighter rig, the Druid caught my eye,the new Reign I think is quite a ride also, If the 540 will show good results maybe just maybe, the only thing I miss is an overrun feature...looks like it's still not an option on the Syncdrive system. I decided I am keeping and riding the Reign E for another season, the range on the 800 is more then I need most of the time, the Syncdrive Pro2 grew on me-found settings that give me good range with enough punch, also(maybe it's just me) I feel the motor works quieter with even Launch number settings. Last ride had a consumption of 0,38Wh/m altitude gain.

Support(%): 100 150 200 250 300
Torque(Nm): 60 70 70 85 85
Launch: 2 4 4 6 6

Over all the bike still rides, climbs and decends fantastic even with all that mass, just need to keep the speed up and it floats over terrain like a magic carpet.

I also feel all the never bikes are really rushed to the market, reading trough the forums almost every brand nowadays has some issues, be it electrical, structural or other...
✌️

I sold the Reign at the start of the year and moved to a Cube hybrid one77 with Bosch motor. Quite similar bike and setup overall, but the new one is 3kg lighter (23kg) with the 600Wh battery and 2kg lighter with the 800Wh. I was getting ~40km and 1600m vertical from the giant with 800Wh in Turbo on Giant, I can get 45km and 2000m vert with the 800Wh on Bosch in EMTB mode which is roughly as powerful as the giant in turbo. I bought my new bike for €4300 and have heard others get the same model for under 4k which is bonkers.

Since the new bosch update the turbo and EMTB+ modes allow more power up to 750w which drains the battery a bit faster. Similar range as the Giant but with considerably more assistance.

For me there is no magic with the 48v system, if you have a 800W motor pulling from a 560Wh battery you will not get good range in the higher assistance modes. Of course 800W is peak and not constant, but Sam's bike quotes his vertical range as 900-1200m on the new giant vs 1450m on the old system and 1550m on a bosch gen 5 both with 750wh batteries:

Reference for the range of different motors:

Hey guys, the previous update implemented the in app Update button, now there is another update avaliable for the Reign on Android, anyone had the chance to try it or knows what the changes are? I already finished riding for this season.

So your saying the VALA is a better bike in all aspects? What about descending capability with longer travel? or is the weight difference a big factor in that too. I know my XL reign is near 27kg so hard to slow down :)

For me, my program and my type of trails, Vala is a better bike overall. Easier to place where I want on tight stuff, easier to jump (I only do small jumps) and I think more control descending. Then again, I’m not a downhill expert. My mind was pretty much set on getting the new Reign, based on rumors and discussions here, however that bike (the new Reign) is really a downhill bike and this doesn’t fit my program. It’s my first non-Giant bike in a loooong time, local Giant support is pristine, this was a difficult decision that I do not regret. I’ve been looking at new bikes for at least a year, geometry, weight and local support being top of my list (I would not buy online but that’s me). Vala, Reign, Levo4, Amflow & Transition Regulator were the contenders. I still have my 2022 Reign, fitted with studded tires for the winter, still runs great after more than 5,000 km. Cheers!

This is probably a dumb question but I’m gonna ask it anyway. I have a 625 battery and my buddy has the 750. He is selling his bike and is willing to give me his 750 in exchange for my 625. Would there be any issue of putting that battery into my bike or am I gonna need to bring it in to get something programmed for it to work?

My Stance came with 500wh and I bought the 800wh. It dropped right in and worked no problem.
No changes/adjustments required as long as the covers are the same (for the same model).

While the battery change would work I am not sure about the stats in the app. Cycles, etc. Not a big issue perhaps but you may lose those stats.

It'll work fine and will slot right in with no modification. My bike came with a 625 and I bought an 800 as well later on and the two are completely interchangeable.

I have both the 625 and 750 batteries for my Reign e+0, both work fine, don't need to do anything to the batteries just 'plug and play' 😊

I'm pretty sure statistics are following the battery in the app, you get stats from the battery being used in the bike.
