Reign E+ 2022

Yep that's the one. The paint work is really nice. Haven't got many pics yet but I'll post some more later on for you.

Did your e+2 come with the float x? Mine came with the dpx2 in Canada, I wonder if there’s a huge difference in performance. I like the dpx2 because it definitely makes the bike playful and poppy, I have thought about changing it out at some point though.

Yeah it did, hadn't really thought about it until you pointed it out. Looking at the specs on the giant site it should come with a dpx2. Will have to ask the lbs to see why it's different. Haven't used fox shocks in the past so not sure on the differences between them.

I’ve just done a bit of reading on them, the float x sounds like a better shock, it requires less pressure for proper sag. The rebound and compression circuits are separate from each other so changing the compression doesn’t have an effect on rebound. The float x is between the dpx2 and float x in the lineup.

OK so quick update.
If the orange led which is also a button is on then your charger is in storage mode and will only charge to 60 percent.
I pushed the button and charging has resumed.
Take for another spin later tonight.

Can anyone tell me what software /firmware or whatever version I need to get Auto Mode working off the bar controller? I read that a few have this enabled via a long press on the bar remote. Mine doesn't do that and the only way I can switch it back on is by holding down the power button on the top tube. I am not getting any prompts in the app to update software and I can't see a way to check for updates or versions manually.

First impression E+0, compring it to Trance E+1 2019;
Motor is very quiet, natural power (newer done so long wheelies), motor really comes to live(punchy) with high load and high cadance, that is in situation where the old motor whent down in power, f.ex. going up a steep short hill. At first I felt it to be less powerful, but even it might be, I enjoy it and would always prefer it over the old generation.
Geometry is very good, and supension is poppy and mutch more feedback from rear end. Bike feels lighter when riding it.
All in all, wery happy with the bike, felt at home right away. 173cm short legs /Frame: Large

Edit: I can confirm that the 500Wh battery can be used.

Thanks Mr Trailaddict. I think you were the guy I was referring to. So is this update only available from a dealer? That post made it sound like the dealer installed the update but you would have otherwise had the option to do it yourself.

So big ride today, climbed 480m then mixed trails over to adventure park. Did 4 laps with motor off and smashed all my strava pb. This is fkn fast full stop.
Wheels are terrible and flex a lot so ordered some hunt e Enduro wheels.
Absolutely love this bike and definitely selling the commencal.
Yippee!

Oh and also only used 25 percent battery for all that fun!
Was running on 1 and 2 led most of the time unless descending steeps.

so you're pretty happy with the range so far? how much do you weigh? due to weather, i've only been on mine 5 times. last ride was pretty cool, 3°, and i didn't get as far as i expected. i do wonder if the temp played a role. i'm also 105kg/220 and i imagine that doesn't help.

I'm pretty happy so far although I didn't use battery at all descending and only climbed 400m.
Extended my ride this afternoon with the kids on level 1 for about 45min. Was at 60 percent after that.
I'm about 82 without gear. Wearing Giro switchblade fox Enduro knee pads and evoc freeride bag full of tools.
I worked pretty hard on the pedals keeping power meter in the green.
Will get to know it better.
Also 25 odd degrees here maybe to day. Celcuis that is.

level 1 or 2 would certainly extend range quite a bit. i ride in mostly 3, and i could see using 2 as fitness increases with ride time. level 1 seems pointless. might as well take my regular bike. or 3 for steep uphill, early in the climb when the legs aren't fully warmed up, then down to 2. but then i'm not riding with other eeb riders, i think group eeb rides are largely in high power levels and going uphill fast.

I was solo and enjoy a bit of hard work.
I feel level 1 just hides the bikes weight and brings it in line with what all light xc bike with carbon wheels pedals like so not pointless if you are doing an all day epic but on a short ride you may as well use the battery and have more fun!

Has anyone connected using this latest giant app update that came up yesterday?
My rig is running sweet and don’t want to jinx it!

I updated my bike whilst using 1.12. 0
Bike running perfectly.
What version is the latest you have?

I weigh about the same as you. Have riden the bike Most days since I got it a couple of weeks ago.
The range is good for my riding.
Yesterday i used around 60% of my 625wh battery.

I rode 22km and 820m vertical, using the auto mode for 70% of the ride, mainly on the steep uphill stuff (essentially full power for most of that). Dry conditions.
The rest of the time I was in 3 or 2 as I was going through some techy single track with lots of roots and switchback’s, I don’t feel sufficiently in control using higher power settings… same for downhill

I figure that for me, the battery is good for around 1200m vertical of full on riding without trying to conserve the battery.
Considerably more if staying in power setting 1 or 2.

What’s everyone’s setup on the 38s on the E+1? I’m 82kg and running it at 100psi with hsc two clicks from open. Finding it a little harsh still. Also how are you supposed to get at the rebound on the X2? It’s completely hidden at the bottom of the shock?

Maybe use a pencil? Eraser side should be able to turn that knob. Good thing I believe is that Float X have numbered knobs.

what jaggy said. on a bike stand, hoisted up a few feet off the ground it's actually not too bad. insert key fully, one click at a time.

Had my first ride on my new Reign E +1. My first proper EMTB. Had cheap Chinese EBikes before and have a Super73 in the garage. This is a very different beast obviously. Love it.
I have the same pedal grounding issues that others have had so may need to address that. I also find it’s quite easy to knock the control unintentionally whilst riding. All of a sudden you realise you have no power. Anyway enough chat, here are some pics from my first ride.

Did the same myself the first few times knocking the power off on the bars. Moved the controls in on the bars a bit so I don't catch them.

Run the bike in the high setting. 1cm higher bb do a lot. 64,5 HA is plenty slack.

Look into hope 155mm ebike cranks. They are very popular and will offer some more clearance

Yeah I thought that would be the best route. Also I’ll flip the chip once I’ve worked out how to do that (all very new to me). How do I know if it’s in the high or low setting? *Newbie alert*

exactly. high setting, not too much sag, dial in some low speed compression, half way closed, use firm pedal switch on flatter trails. it's definitely not a trail bike, more of a 'winch and plummet' style bike.
