Hi everyone,
I own a Giant Stance E+ 2 (2022) with a SyncDrive Sport (Yamaha) motor and approximately 3,800 km on it.
Recently I started noticing a clicking/cracking noise coming from the motor area. The noise only occurs when the motor is ON and providing assistance.
Symptoms:
Has anyone experienced something similar with a SyncDrive Sport / Yamaha motor? Could this be related to the motor mounting bolts, chainring lockring, sprag clutch, or an internal reduction gear?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Symptoms:
- Giant Stance E+ 2 (2022)
- SyncDrive Sport motor
- ~3,800 km
- Noise only when the motor is ON
- No noise at all when the motor is OFF
- The noise starts as soon as I sit on the bike and apply pressure to the pedals
- It is present in all assist modes (Eco, Tour, Power)
- The noise is most noticeable between 0–10 km/h
- Above ~10 km/h it becomes very difficult to hear or disappears
- The noise seems to come from the motor area rather than the rear wheel
- No noticeable loss of power
