Pre-order starts next month - Next Crestline Avinox frame set

All should be good for April time.

Unrelated side note, not that anyone will be running the Podium on this bike, but I do not rate the Fox Podium after more testing on home trails. Its great going fast through rough chunk in a straight line (superb acually) , and great under hard braking (in straight line) but as soon as I hit chunk, get in deep ruts and roots.... damn its flexy and I notice it quite a lot.

The catch with all USD fork, is that part of the equation that must be considered is: was the front hub a good candidate to combine with an USD fork?

I don't even know how to accurately determine this, but I know it's a significant factor.

Can you post which front hub you utilized for testing?

DT Swiss 240 👍

Funny, you bought the bike I really want. Instead, I listened to my peers and bought the Alpine Chalk with the Vivid air and Red Zeb, rh3. I grabbed the 800 battery, but really want the 600 battery as I plan on using this bike primarily for hot laps 🤣.

My Levo is the blacked out, raw carbon warranty frame. Its so sick imho. Anyway, I never had a white bike, so figured I’d give it a go.

So I am open to swapping. I probably wont, but will definitely think about it. Do I really want another raw carbon eeb? Haha kind of 😁 Id swap for Robs green one in a hot second 🤣

The raw does look clean w/ your Levo. Yeah let me know- I have only had coil shocks for the last decade but might be open to trying the Vivid air out. I do prefer the 800 battery over the 600 on my order.

With the rumors around the new Amflow motor, there have also been rumors about 2 new batteries. I don’t recall the exact sizes but they are in the 700 and 900 range. Any chance the RS 1.2 comes with new battery options?

Ya know, in Troyden's interview on the first 99 Spectre's he said that he spent $100K on DJI tariffs alone.

The Tariffs just got struck down by the US Supreme Court as the POTUS does not have the unilateral ability to pass tax increases on Americans (which they were), only the Legislative branch can do that.

Troyden very well might get a refund and also save the tarriff costs on his new orders, $350K worth I'd guess using the same formula as before.

At least in the USA, this is a significant development.
Not exactly... Only the tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were subject to the SCOTUS ruling; not all tariffs. For example the tariffs on automobiles weren't imposed under IEEPA and are thus still in effect. I'm not confident if cycle parts were part of IEEPA justification or not, but AI is telling me they may not have been. Short story- bike parts are probably still tariffed. Actually, POTUS imposed a new global tariff after the ruling so I wouldn't get my hopes up on benefiting from cheap foreign labor. Look on the bright side, even with the tariffs off-shored parts are still less expensive than Made in USA.

I haven't delved deep into this... but I would think all the "retaliatory" tariffs he's imposed are the ones under the IEEPA, no? No, all tariffs aren't going away. However, I thought it would be ALL the ones he's put in using that legal avenue.

It does sound like he's going to pursue other legal avenues for tariffs as hinted by one of the justices.

My (very limited) understanding is it's the tariffs imposed as part of what POTUS deemed an "emergency."

Update from AI: (my emphasis added)
the IEEPA-based tariffs (e.g., broad "reciprocal" global tariffs, "fentanyl/trafficking" tariffs on Canada/Mexico/China, Brazil-specific tariffs tied to political issues) were voided and collection halted (e.g., as of February 24, 2026, per CBP guidance), with potential refunds for paid duties pending lower-court proceedings. But core Trump-era tariffs under Sections 232 and 301—representing significant ongoing duties on steel, aluminum, autos, Chinese goods, and more—survive intact and continue to apply. The overall tariff landscape remains active and subject to further executive actions under these alternative laws.

So if you're looking to buy some Canadian fentanyl there's good times ahead!

I doubt the hub is really that much of a factor.. The Podium uses a 20mm axle but not any additional rigidity increasing systems.(lol torque caps?) The flex is intentional and it's something you like or you don't. I prefer precision over compliance myself but I bet the dentist dad-bros who are the one's actually buying those probably couldn't care less. If you want max stiffness the 40 is always there for you, and the RS181 is begging for one.

I won't be holding my breath for the new 38 as I'm happy with my current MY23 38 after some massaging and a gripX2. The new one will undoubtedly have the typical Fox updates. A new air spring, reduced weight (dirt windows) , along with a freshly higher MSRP.

Heard new boxxer and revised shock will be announced tomorrow and zeb at sea otter.

Just rumors, but I guess we will see the validity of that rumor tomorrow.

Those rumours were based on the availability of a higher capacity cell.
There is no evidence pointing towards dji using it. Actually quite a bit of evidence that points towards them staying 600wh/800wh.
Or they're about to pull off the greatest embargo blackout ever. It's unlikely.

From what I understand is that the batteries wont come until next year. I asked Troyden if the 600w was a bigger capacity I would be happy keeping it otherwise could I please swap for an 800w. His response was I'll try make an 800w work so I am guessing that means no changes in the batteries for the meantime. Fingers crossed if/when they update the batteries that they are backwards compatible.

Are you talking about a zeb? Zebs are about 500grams lighter than a fox 40.

a big fox 40 on the front of a cresty would turn it into more of a plough machine. I thought long and hard about 190mm zeb or 200mm triple and came to the conclusion that i wanted more playfulness for the tighter, slower and easier stuff whilst still being able to go full send.

18omm single crown was the answer for me.
Was talking about a podium

I hope they make a 36t variant

Pre-ordered! Looks like this will show up after the frame, so that's a little bit of a bummer.

No info about a new Zeb though.

sounds sick!!! I’m sure it’ll carry over to Zeb! Like I mentioned Zeb should be announced at sea otter.

Now the big question is will our crestlines come with the new shock and fork?

From the wording on his initial email, I would guess so.

"If you opt to pair a fork purchase with your frameset please note that we cannot ship the fork until we ship the frame. There is a reason for this which you will be happy about when the time comes to ship. We will have more detailed info at a later stage. *Product images are for reference only and may differ from the final shipped item"

The divots to deposit oil throughout the bushings sounds sickkkk (around 2:30 mark)

The affect of only 5 degrees of deadband is low, hoping the e version is more.

Is this anit pedal kick back business really needed? Are we really at the bleeding edge of performance that this makes a real difference?

i was riding my cresty last night down a super rooty hectic track chasing a couple of fast AF mates on their 200mm Zerode DH bikes and they could only pull a small gap on the chunkiest and fastest straight section. Then i'd pulle em back in on the tight corners and when ever pedalling was required.

Anyway, if my bike was being so poor in performance because it lacks the anti kick back thing those guys would have dropped me like a freaken hot potato. They are fast as fuck!

My conclusion is the bike hauls arse as is. No anti kick back device needed.

100% Needed? Nah. Does it improve anything? Probably. One thing I notice on my Druid compared to my other bikes is that you can pump it though chunk with no feeling of it hanging up. That bike has a hugely rearward axle path though. Either way I got a Reserve wheelset with the DF hub and will be running it in 10 deg. mode on the Crestline.

Yeah, thats more the rear axle path than anything. I think this product is mostly hype. Sure it might make micro differences in speed for an elite level racer, but for us old bastard e bikers...... well do far better of having a good night sleep and a decent breakfast than slapping pedal kick back devices on our bikes.

Ochain on my Spindrift made a pretty noticeable difference to me. Much less feedback through the feet on braking bumps at the bike park. Just my experience, bike didn't feel faster or anything, just a bit more comfortable.

One of my close riding buddies has the Ochain and swears it made a difference for him on his DH bike. I agree though, the eeb has a lot of different dynamics involved and it's probably going to be less noticeable. With the one way clutch wouldn't the drivetrain be disengaged in at least one direction already?

That's probably the most honest statement for any top end any bit of kit....

I'm reminded of this when i'm blasting along on my wizbang bike with all the gismo's and latest suspension and my mate it rattling along beside me at the same speed with his beat up all giant reign with a rusty spring, dented rims, worn out drive train and hammered tires

Re front hubs on USD forks. Yes apparently they do make a difference. Chris King and i9 hydra are both recommended for their flange interface, Darren from push said somewhere about it.

Just ordered up some cranks for this thing to give me something to stare at while I wait!

Looking at "watts in the box" noted it comes with this nifty e13 direct mount chainring:

So I went for the matching e13 Helix Race e*spec alloy cranks in 155mm (black):

They are one of few options available currently in 155mm for the Avinox, decent price, and even lighter weight than some carbon versions out there.

They also have a nice cover to fill the gap as well for a clean look, and to keep it clean:

413 grams for the 155mm set, and used FAST15 promo code to scoop em up for $178 from their site.

One more juicy tidbit sorted for this glorious bike coming soon-ish..!!
