Pic of the Day

Note to self: Don’t go to the Bike Park/Trail Centre on the first sunny weekend day in a few weeks…

Car park was bad, trails were madness.

Then I saw a random one-legged seagull, I simply couldn’t let get away without a photo

Some new drops the park has just put in to help with progression.
Starts with a “grade 4” low drop, then middle is a “grade 5” and the large one is a “grade 6”
Realistically, it’s more like G3, G4 and G5.
But they were fun. And it wasn’t too busy down that end of the park, which was a nice change.

Stayed at a really cool château last night.

It was absolutely enormous. Best of all, unlike most really old Châteaus and castle's, you could go everywhere!

Had it's own chapel and it's own church.

It was so large some sections were just abandoned

I lost track of the number of hallways and towers I climbed.

So anyway, useful things ..

I've invented a new 4*4 trail grading system ! You just see how much your beer can has worn !!

Ok, so if you are traveling off road moto, 4*4, or want to traverse parts of Europe with your EMTB and try to stick to small roads/off road, then TET is a good source of gpx files where people have linked all the trails together with road sections.

For example :

Beware, if you're in a 4*4, trails are intended for Moto, so some will be a tight fit !

We met two Germans earlier who caught us up during a coffee break, so we followed them until one fell off on a steep rocky/muddy descent after a really technical section, so they broke off to recover at a bar. Spoke to them later and the other one had a puncture,.so expect excitement!

Apologies for all the none EMTB content !

For anyone really sad (like me) ..

From a disused 500 year old wine cellar, to the top of one of the towers !

I'm guessing your room was the one waiting to get decorated, or are you the painter.

First ever SRAM bleed, not as easy as Shimano but not as bad as I expected. SRAM had good video how to do it. I`ve been riding these DB8 10 months and 1700km. Not a bad brake, not even closely powerfull as my XT`s but ok for trail riding. I like the lever feel and looks and original pads are great. Had to bleed rear brake because there was air, lever touched the grip. Keep riding these at least until this second set of pads wear out, then maybe but new mavens? In the otherhand I really like trouble and air free 😀 Shimanos, the new ones are just so ugly that cannot put them on 😅View attachment 183023

What bleed kit is that? Looks like a good one!

Awesome! That looks amazing. I'd love to visit that.

When I was a kid, I used to wander all over a beautiful castle. I know every nook and cranny, even the dungeons.

It's currently for sale for 16 million euros—a steal ! :D

Maybe we can buy it with our winnings from the fantasy league ??

If you want a castle, then this one near me is up for grabs 👍
I thought it would be called Hodge house. But with all the water it's obviously where The EMF lives.

Well its pretty close to what used to be a family home my Dad & " step mother"used to own it & lived there ..and is still owned & run by a family member..
I never did live there but had some wild nights when staying over ..
Now an Air BnB ..

On my daily route I stopped and couldn't decide which one I should jump into.

Tough decision, but the Vantage would be my choice.

I'm not generally a fan of British cars, but I find it interesting how Aston Martins uniquely seem to be almost universally admired. It's rare you hear the typical "he probably has a small d*ck" comment when the owner has an Aston Martin. Weird, but a positive.

I prefer comfort therfore Bentley.
Ladies don't care about d*CK size if you got any of those cars 😂

An old neighbour of mine popped past this winter in his V8. It's got great presence.

The Aston Martin is my pick. I doubt I pick the Bentley even if I wore a monocle.

Bummer on the colors. Black is always dirty and gray is bland. I can’t imagine dropping that kind of coin on a high end car and having it in a boring color.
I think if I were buying an Aston, I'd be getting a 1990 V8 Vantage V8 in British Racing Green.
With a tan leather interior.
And a towbar for my bike rack.
