Ah the Pulley. Older people will remember as we all had them in the kitchen . People could tell what you had for your supper yesterday a great invention.
Yes an old school. Stayed there once upstairs , lasted one night camped outside the next night. Granddaughter got one not long ago 99 out of Lidl i haven't tried it yet . I have sea kayak ì may get out with her yet and swap .
Stayed in it too a very long time ago. Two mates and me stayed there one weekend when we were up there to paddle the Orchy. Mates lived in Glasgow so managed to get key for it. As you say you sleep upstairs and one of my mates had a wee bit too much to drink in maybe the Inveroran Hotel. He woke up and needed to get outside to boak but was in a panicYes an old school. Orchy always fancied it middle Findhorn was our regular run other bits occasionally. I have pacraft now not so scary . Remember the trap door well trying not to stand on folks head coming down the ladder in middle of night for a single fish. The good old days.Stayed in it too a very long time ago. As you say you sleep upstairs and one of my mates had a wee bit too much to drink in maybe the Inveroran Hotel. He woke up and needed to get outside to boak but was in a panicstumbling about in dark as he couldn't find the wee trapdoor to get down ladder. We had to get him down ladder and outside, not funny for him but we were pishing ourselves laughing.
The other guy who was there is who I then started climbing with after we packed in whitewater paddling. He told me a story about a guy he knew from work that bought a canoe, not a glassfibre one like he'd been advised by my mate but a lath and canvas one. Anyway for some reason he took it with him on a trip up there to stay in bothy. Canoe was on roof of car and he tried to turn car around near bothy to drive back down track, ended up off side of track and couped car on to it's roof...got help to get car back on wheels on track but canoe was now, as it was described by my mate " just a bag of wid" drooping down at front and back of car. The time we stayed there, my mate showed me some of the remains of canoe out the back of bothy, parts of the nicely made frame, the rest was gone, used as kindling for fire.![]()

Beautiful! is that a glacier in the background and could I ask what mountain valley and lake you are riding?
- YouTubeScoraig today all windpower in here no electric supply. No roads in just the path i cycled . 60 folk live in here even has a primary school , alternative lifestyle for those that like that. Fourteen miles but about eight are on a tarmac road to Badralch where the path starts. Some dodgy bits I have cycled before on a analogue bike but wary now I'm older. Beautiful day West is best this week. Soaked up sun had lunch and got the fifteen minute postman's ferry to Badluarach then seven miles back to the hut. Finished off with a visit to the Arctic Convoy Museum at Aultbae need to go back and spend a couple hours there well worth a visit.

Is that Scoraig
So is it a glacier?Awesome
I would say most certainly. I am new to riding in Switzerland for my travels and just love the area for its charming mountain valleys and spectacular back country adventuring. The area shown is definitely target rich for glaciers. I am going to put that route on my list for next month! So is it a glacier?
Looks like one to me as well. Beautifull country . I was trying to remember the places as I went there for years when i started going abroad to ski . Think last time was Zermat six years ago maybe. Always fancied a summer biking trip i would need to drive of train so probably never happen but you never know .I would say most certainly.
