We spent the weekdays this week at Järvsö bike park in Sweden.
The weather was perfect for biking and the trails were in good condition. Thanks to the trail crew.

In the picture where we're riding a drop, it's not me, it's my braver friend.

Fifth emtb ride in a week today. Yesterday chill ride with a friend on a Spesh and today full enduro send with Bullit. Got it back from LBS on thursday, it shut down in middle of the ride last week without any reason and no error codes. Shimano says it`s moisture in connector…didn`t specify which..only one I can think of is battery cable behind left side engine cover so I cleaned it with contact cleaner and put silicone grease around the cables so water cannot go through there to the connector itself. Then I put some motofoam under the engine cover to keep shit out, there was two table spoon of damp dirt when I open it 😀 Rode today all rock gardens and roots, all good for now…

Very clean looking. I haven't been in to the guts of mine yet as its been mostly dry since I got it. Saying that the cable it way more protected on Gen 3 levo I'm thinking 🤔.

You want ugly? I'll give you ugly. That's post crash, pre-op. I now have a six inch scar to add to the other scar. According to the surgeon, it was a complete detachment of the socket from the rest of the shoulder.

Ouch, looks horrible.

How did you crash?

I think Levo motor cables are very nicely protected. Although this has only around 500km`s on it, but inside looks like new, no dirt. Very well designed, two wholes on the bottom of the motor, everywhere else very well sealed from the elements. I thought I’ll put some foam here too, but after I opened it, I don’t think it needs any. Of course battery cable is different but I didn’t have any problems with gen2 cable so I think this will be fine too…hopefully 😀

I had about 3 replacements for my Gen 2 Levo Expert . Gen 3 has done 900 miles touch wood no issues.

Not me
Mine was worse than that at Innerleithen
Riding the same trail just a different line ended off down a bank on caddon bank
Grabbing a tree to stop myself falling way down
Been promising myself a trip down Innerleithen area for a while now need to get there in next few weeks.

Commonwealth games were in Glasgow when I was there ??. Mega heatwave I remember a long time ago. I get around but you can't go every where , I definitely need two nights there before I'm too old.

Tore of Troup looked worth exploring on the map it would be glacier related. Managed through the length of it but a lot of off piste though many tracks are marked on map ,may be easier in winter . Need to go back and make a day of it. Managed a couple laps round Pennan motocross track as well . Cullykhan beach then Pennan village probably most photographed phone box in Scotland due to Local Hero movie. Great to get out and still getting the good weather .

A quite brilliant ride today with me auld marra @The Hodge starting from Westgate, County Durham. A loop taking in Weardale with some huge climbs and fast decents. I don’t think I’ll ever ride this route again in these conditions. So dry everywhere, even the boggy traverses between way points are dry as sticks.
The river Wear itself a mere trickle over the rocks that form the river bed. IMG_0544.jpeg
The Burnhope Resovoire above seems only half full.

Pics of Neil at the top of a huge climb from the valley floor ( turbo ass reqd on some parts of the incline for both of us )
All finished off with the customary pint post ride. Thanks pal.
My strava data below.

A truly grand day out.

Still recovering ..but I'll stick some pics up tomorrow 🤪
Nice write up ..ground conditions were dry ..but we ended the ride wet when caught in a heavy shower in the last 15mins of the ride ..which altered our thinking in terms of how we would end it favouring a road finish along the valley floor ..

Some of my pics of @The EMF in action on yesterdays ride ..including one of the few puddles we came across ( a rarity on this route as it's usually strewn with them ) ..
The Burnhope Burn which was a mere trickle ..this in turn feeds the resevoir..the " overflow" feeds the River Wear..but it does my black & white heart( Newcastle United) the power of good if the Makems ( Sunderland folk) are struggling for water 😍...
The third off last pic was where our turbo boost was needed ..ever tried staying upright on plastic matting which has been used to control erosion ..its twitchy bum stuff !..
This and the last two pics were part of the tough climb up from the valley floor into a head wind ..no wonder I slept well last night 😴.
Cracking ride on freak ( good !) ground conditions ..
Cheers Wayne 👍🏻
