both super friendly and taking time for a pic

That was Bunree campsite. Just chilling for a couple of days. 👍
Know where your at . I fancied the ride up to a mast Southeast from Pap of Glencoe up from a wee campsite just past Glencoe . It looked a great descent looking across from the Pap

Lots of good riding up around the pap, some isn't marked though

It must have come down in slow motion as there’s no damage to the wall 🤷‍♂️
The branches would have held the trunk up above the wall. Then they've carefully trimmed the branches and effectively lowered the trunk slowly, the root ball will still be trying to pull it upright to a reasonable degree.

Bought a used 2022 kenevo comp from facebook marketplace for 2k euro. Never had any Specilazed bike, wanted to try it, put my fox 40 on it, rode it for several days. The brose motor is big disappointment after 30 000km on bosch motors, power feels less as advertised and measured, range is less as the bosch gen4 (not smart). The geometry, chassis feels fine, rear suspension not as good as on my other bike.

The first day i used my "old" bike, she felt i was cheating on her, and decided to choose a wrong line at 20mph on rocky descent , and grenade the rear derailleur.

I didn't had a chain breaker tool on me, i had to roller down and walk back home for 10km. It was a fun day.

Poolewe to Carnmore today, you could go all the way to Dundonnell if you really like a bit of hike a bike . Narrow single track a lot of the way I had way too many crank and pedal strikes for one day . Staying in The Smiddy tonight £14 be ok once I get the bellows going not sure what to do with the Anvil though. Apologies if there are too many pics. Warning ⚠️ I will be out again tomorrow . I had a dook ana wee ma draws an socks on water was lovely.

The curtains in the kitchen window need updating 😀

See the Carnmore Bothy has had a makeover by the Changing Rooms crew. The only time I've been there was in 1991 to do some climbs on Carnmore Crag. The inside of bothy was about 6 inches deep in horse shit from the ponies they used for carrying deid deer off the hills.
We got there by paddling across Loch Maree in a couple of open Canadian canoes, blagged by one of the 6 of us from Linlithgow outdoor centre, she was a teacher so knew the folk there. Walked in the rest of way early evening past and between the wee lochs there. The forecast was looking a bit iffy for the Saturday so me and my mate went up and did one of the climbs we came for called Dragon which was good, was HVS then and now seems to be graded at E1 5b.
While climbing we could hear hammering and banging coming from activity next to bothy. When we finished and got down in near dark we found that one of the other guys had built himself a wee shelter out of bits of corrugated iron and bits of wood, it was about 2 foot high. He was reluctant to bivvy doon amongst the horse shit, think he was a vet as well in Edinburgh. My mate and I had brought our bivvy bags and slept outside nae bother though it was pishing rain by the time we'd got fed and watered. There was no chance of climbing the next day so we walked back out to canoes and paddled back to cars.

Yes it's as grim as you get Carnmore its got a new bench nothing else. Yes I shudder when I think of some of the walking in to climb a hill. Met a couple yesterday the gate had a zip tie on it when they got to it so left bikes. I seen the bikes and thought strange place to leave them . No zip tie when I came to it. They must have walked 16 miles plus two Munros. Was I ever that keen or daft , ah the good old days when I was a loon.

A lot of years ago my wife and I got the train from Tyndrum to Corrour Station then MTBd in to camp at side of loch near the youth hostel to Munro bag for a couple of days. We came to a big eff off locked gate that there was no lifting over. Noticed that the lock was new and it was a combination lock. The number that was showing was 1314, to any Scot easy to remember, I thought it cannae be that easy FFS. It was, padlock just opened when I tried it. :) The next gate was same, new lock but a scrambled number that when I put in 1314 it opened. There were another 2 gates on other side of loch when we were on way out, 1314 worked on them too. It was just our luck that whoever last used the first gate didn't bother to scramble number or just forgot to. We had a friend go in there a good few months later and we had told her about it and it worked fine with her.

Scoraig today all windpower in here no electric supply. No roads in just the path i cycled . 60 folk live in here even has a primary school , alternative lifestyle for those that like that. Fourteen miles but about eight are on a tarmac road to Badralch where the path starts. Some dodgy bits I have cycled before on a analogue bike but wary now I'm older. Beautiful day West is best this week. Soaked up sun had lunch and got the fifteen minute postman's ferry to Badluarach then seven miles back to the hut. Finished off with a visit to the Arctic Convoy Museum at Aultbae need to go back and spend a couple hours there well worth a visit.
