So do you tour in van or Lord it up in hotels ? tell me more . How long you away for. I always fancied a Alps mtb trip , my problem is I like a ski trip and can't justify both as they would be on my own as wife is not interested. I get a lot of scouff with nights away in camper etc so taking two holidays on my own is pushing it a bit.

Jokes aside, it was centimeters from this become reality. Dude was sunbathing in the middle of road on downhill section. At first I thought it was a stick, but at the last moment I noticed it's a snake (Hierophis viridiflavus carbonarius).

Another " gentle " ride out at Kielder while Wayne awaits a decision on what course of action is to be taken with his shoulder injury ..
Starting with Sky Dive / Bewshaugh on Lonesome Pine ..then across the Valley to Twist & Shout ( both red trails) then the full Osprey Trail ( the sections that were open ) then back again to finish on Sky Dive again x2..which had benefitted from the downpour of rain ..seeming to "knit" the trail and offering a lot more grip than it's first offering this morning ..
Interesting ( differing ) stats from myself on Outdooractive & Wayne on Strava ..I think I will believe mine so that I don't feel quite so knackered

Find a way to harvest those butterflies and you'd make millions selling it to the ladies! Those tanks with fish that eat hard skin off your feet appear to be popular (why?), so butterflies eating the hairs from your legs will be an absolute sell-out.

They may well have been, I haven't noticed any for a while. At one time, every place on the coast seemed to have them. I don't recall ever seeing any in the UK though.

Living in a van normally the hole trip. Because it's not allowed to stay night everywhere in Austria, Switzerland and Italy, you have to go to the camping places. Mid summer they are quite busy, so better make a reservation. By a gravity card, it's included 30 bike parks. Normally my trip takes 1.5 months but this year 2 months. Because old enough and never now when you cannot do these trips.

Sölden looks nice, how was it? I'm planning to go there later this year, though with an "organic bike" and not the e-monster.
Yesterday I shredded some trails in Schladming, and in few weeks it's Saalbach time. And Leogang few weeks later...
In my opinion Sölden is second best after Saalbach. Real big mountain riding and long vertical meters (1340 m)
