It’s getting overgrown here in SoCal. The handguards are coming in clutch View attachment 161174

At one time I got a plastic looking motorbike engine with batteries that fitted on and made a noise. Probably out of embassy coupon bookI reckon 7 or 8 years old as I only vaguely remember having it. Bit of cardboard in spokes probably sounded as good.
Playing cards had been excellent! Fixed to the mudguard strut with a clothespin and sound controlled via a cord from the handlebars. For sure our neighborhood hated me that time but my parents could hear I was doing fine. 😂
Now we have to find out if my father, being 11 at that time, told this after WW2 to the British soldiers who took it back to UK or if they showed it to him.🙂

I'd say I had a sub optimal day. Big puncture that would neither seal nor take a plug, so out with the emergency inner tube. Because of that , we decided to shorten the ride since I'd be screwed if I caught another punny, so we took a shortcut where we ran into someone walking their dogs, one of which bit me. Might cancel my lottery ticket.

Bit of a change in pace, Did a section of the High Peaks Trail. Nice and quiet on Friday before the bank holiday madness.
Its quite pleasant if a little err, boring. Nice traffic free trail though, be great for kids/family. Apologies for the offensive white spring...I don't know how much longer I can bear it..........

Done it many a time, there's a few good bridleways off it (nothing knarly), Green Lane about half way between Parsley Hay and Friden (brickworks). Or turn off HPT onto the 548 at Minninglow towards Biggin, then Hartington and from there head over towards Pilsbury. The descent to Hartington is fast fun.

Taking a break in Kefalonia, last week.

Leaving Cambridge and back to France tomorrow, really need to leave a bike here, it sucks. Bit then it's also flat and boring.

Pub quiz question. Absolutely no one ever went to Kefalonia until which book made it famous?

Also, fabulous book.

You know you're onto a winner when the first chapter tells a tale of a guy with ear ache & the doctor discovers a dried pea he shoved in there 60 years ago as a toddler & fishes it out only to have the guy ask him to put it back in a day later because now he can't ignore his wife moaning at him any more. 👌

First mountain biker in Buckie 1910 . House on right my lads.

If we presume he bought the house when he was 20.

Let's say you were an eager young man and fathered him when you were 18.

Which means you were 38 when the picture was taken.

So you're now 153 ?

Wow ! 😁💪

That’s way too much mathing for me.
I’m impressed by those two guys working in the Delorean sports car. (Zooming in) …and every house has a chimney.

Don't know about your area in the UK today but we had high winds earlier (gusts of 40mph) and rain was forecast. I went out about 2pm and luckily it didn't rain, the wind died down, the sun came out and around 3pm I was the only person around, even the dog walkers were nowhere to be seen.
