Sunday morning, wife still asleep, I went out for a short (25km) ride locally. This is at the highest point, approx 250 higher than my home. Looking southwards down the valley where river Numedalslågen flows (hard to see in the picture, though).

Was in the garage yesterday afternoon doing stuff on wife and my Rails. At 8pm one of the two rescue cats we've adopted hadn't come back in for her food. Very unusual for her. Couldn't find her anywhere but figured that in the hot weather (~25C) she might be locked in a shed or house somewhere nearby. Looked everywhere including in the garage for her favourite relaxing places. Couldn't find her anywhere. Wife looked everywhere in the garage three times before suddenly spotting the cat high up on a top shelf. Obviously climbed up there and couldn't get down. Stepladder job to grab her. Bloody princess or what.

Not EMTB related, Just thought it was interesting.

In ye olde days, before GPS.

When you were planting your field with your seed drill ..

You could adjust the width of the front of the tractor to be the same as the seed drill.

Then all you had to do was put your wheel in the wheel track from the last pass and you had perfect seeding.

Never seen it before.

Used one very similar to that but with 5 foot steel wheels, never extended front wheels which lead to alignment problem, this was mainly done for hilly terrain, rear wheels could be extended too to match the front.
Generally you can see the drill wheel marks to follow from the previous pass.

Heres my favourite shipwreck story ,seen the comedy movie Whisky Galore read the real book about the story and the comedy story as well. Occasionally a bottle of whisky is found. Folk actually went to prison for raiding the ship. They remade the movie at Portsoy not far from where I live maybe 10 years ago . The original is class for me anyway.

At the Maritime village I volunteer at, the movie Quigley Down Under featuring Tom Sellick, was used to film the opening wharf scenes

On my way to work today I chose the trail along the river.

There I met this family, but they sprinted for the river as soon they spotted me

A few kilometers upstream I got stuck between two planks in a small bridge

Luckily, I didn't fall deep enough to bend the derailer (I hope), but looking at the picture afterwards, I can see it was pretty close..
