Pic of the Day

Cracking bright but chilly day ..

Went to some Irish Friends to watch the Rugby tonight ... I was supporting New Zealand and was lucky to make it out alive ..

New light arrived yesterday. I did have some funky lights but gave them away as I thought I had some new ones coming which didn't arrive so had switched to some super cheap "caught out moment emergency lights" - which are .... lacking ..

Taking pictures of lights doesn't work very well unless you set the light level - I didn't - so they're crap and don't do the light justice at all .. but either way - you can see ! Everything, everywhere, except on very tight corners and that's without using a second head torch.

Existing light for Amusement :

New light in "Day time running" mode it has a tiny led strip at the bottom ...

New light in "full" mode .. It has "wide" "forwards" "Full/Both" . The picture doesn't do it justice as the camera blanks out as dark in contrast most of what you can see. (Did take pictures of them all, which in real life were vastly different, but in the pictures look pretty similar).

You could actually SEE ! So on the way back de-toured and did some fun bits (no drops, wasn't sure what they would be like) but you could get upto semi normal speed and sh1t your bike up .. I'd made the mistake of cleaning it again.

Did a trip up to the next county for some riding, apple picking and pressing and a new battery for my car.

This section of trail is part of a loop around Coffenbury Lake in Ft. Steven's State Park here in OR. It's a fun bit of very old trail, Lewis and Clark roamed in these Coastal Pines. You can just see the lake through the brush.

This is a section of Trail that I call the DeLaura beach trail. There are several other routes that will get you to the same place and can be connected for some fun loop laps.

After my ride I went to my old friends off grid hippy house and hit up his orchard for some cider and pommes de terre. He has some big ass trees by his house....

A visit to that area is not complete without a bit of contemplation time at the Cove, a popular surf spot here in the North Coast of OR. The point out there is where it curls and is locals only.....watched several rides and looked like it was good although it doesn't show much in the pic? Maybe 8-9'? It was pretty far away and I had my Iphone zoomed to the max. The Cove is a place of great power and energy and I am not big in the woo woo world but there is something there......

Perhaps the closest i can get to a translation?

In a Meta world you need to keep yourself open to your surroundings while in nature.....of course there are mild stimulants that enhance such thoughts 😇

That would be a hard one with a folding saw for sure. But it sure worked on the limbs looks like! Well played.

T Shirts and shorts weather is the best clothing option for mtb. Heading into fender season here....

Puddle in English = Pfütze in German.

As in "a puddle of rainwater" = eine Pfütze Regenwasser

But I believe that I may have missed your no doubt humorous point.

Seeing as many of you like the "hand", here is one I made earlier (about six years ago).

A handful of bikes.jpg

There are some high-priced bikes hanging from the hand (or so we thought of as high-priced at the time). Mine is hanging from the thumb and it was a Norco Sight 1. It cost me what I thought was a fortune at the time, purchased for £3150 in March 2013 and that was an alloy frame! It weighed 12.7kg after the 1x11 conversion and a carbon bar. No wonder I was able to lift it up there, well it was more than 10 years ago!

Sadly, I don't ride with any of those guys anymore. Firstly, I withdrew when I couldn't keep up when arthritis in my knees started, and when I bought an emtb, it was never the same again. But then I found you lot! :ROFLMAO::love:

👍 A bigger poodle could have made a larger puddle for a bigger picture.

As I have said before; a very handy bike rack.
