The ground was frozen solid yesterday so it was like riding in the middle of summer with no mud (except it was freezing cold brrr)

Why yes, of course it is. You mean to say you don't have the requisite duck on your bike? That could explain a lot. Shame.
I noticed the duck had a propeller on its bonce ..is that to give you a little assist on the jumps ?

The bike was up for it, but if I had kept going, the mud on the tyres would have worn off the paint on the stays.

I was shocked at how solidly locked my tire was. I had to find a stick and start removing junk, the tire was not turning, period.

Mate had completely stripped his Ranger auto transmission trying to find a fault ..
This valve oilway looks like someone spent 6 months trying to come up with something to justify their time to create a part of guide oil for 7 valves .. Obviously it's more than that - but it still looks crazy

I think I found the cheese.
I was in two minds about turning out this afternoon as I'm up at Kielder tomorrow with @The EMF in what's looking like it going to be a very windy ride ..but as the missus was out drinking & dining & generally hob-nobbing it at a girly 50th birthday celebration..and with nothing better to do I travelled 45mins down the road and did a beyond Bolts Law there & back.
Having left it until mid afternoon I was chasing the light on the way back ..but had a great couple of hours in +c temps & brilliant sunshine
One or two pics ..
Now to face the music when the better half gets back as the bike is in a right state getting charged up again inside the house for tomorrow ..

Well I just got home from my wèe ski jaunt , nobody home . Maureen is awa to a Burns supper so I expect I will be getting Tam O Shanter in my ear all night when she gets home . After a long days work, you don’t let the cold get in the way of a ride across town and up Knox mountain in Kelowna. First ride with a head lamp too, interesting and fun in the snow.

What started as a quick hour's ride took a bit longer 'cos it was so nice out. Luckily had the lights in my bag.

Finally warming up, it was a cold but decent 62F. Found a fun new trail.

After brilliant sunshine yesterday ..todays ride with @The EMF up at Kielder couldn't have been more of a contrast ..Windy & Wild just about sums it up with 40mph gusts forecast ..and it certainly felt that way at the top of Deadwater Fell..but fairly sheltered in the forest itself ..
