2800m that means that the air you breathe has 28% less oxygen in it than the air that I breathe. I'm really impressed!
I
I hear ya.
I sometimes get altitude sickness when I look at pics posted by @etoni or @TheHodge …or when I take out the garbage and empty the dishwasher.
My home is 200m in elevation and the summit of our mountain is only 1500m…so I know it’s you guys and my daily chores which is causing these symptoms. I’ll live with it.😉

Well, that was a close one! Impressed with the Rise! I am calling this ride, "Only 360WHr'!

Started at Rivington Barn and did the usual climb up to Pigeon Tower, Pike and Winter Hill. Thought I'd change the pics a little and do 'approach' shots. Didn't plan on going so far but thought, what the hell!

Approach to Winter Hill after coming off single track from Wilderswood. I don't know why they put dotted line on the track as it's a private road and single carriageway!
Approach to Winter Hill.jpg

Picked up Witton Weavers Way and took a shot back to Winter Hill (north side)
Witton Weavers Way and Winter Hill.jpg

Single track approach to Jubilee Tower...
Approach to Jubilee Tower.jpg

Then it was all the way back and a dreaded climb back up San Marino after 23 miles to Winter Hill again and beginning to have battery anxiety, meter turned red after I set off!!

The cables holding the transmitter with Liverpool Bay and Docks in the distance.
Winter Hill Cables and Liverpool Bay.jpg

So managed to get back to the car on the last few electrons!

28.37 miles, 3975ft (1300m) of elevation, average speed 8.5mph, 1906kCals burnt. All done on the internal 360WHr battery and ended with 2% left! Well done Rise M10! (y)

Big day on the bikes today with a ride up Cypress mountain (North Shore, Vancouver). Cypress is one of two mountains that have perfectly good shuttle roads to the top. When I asked my wife why, she answered, "Because we can!" The grade ranged between 10% to over 20% for the 6+ km 950m pedal up the FSR. Cypress is known to be the zestiest of the North Shore mountains with many unsanctioned trails. We have ridden this trail numerous times before but it is getting rougher and sketchier each year as more riders find it. The round trip took us over 4 hours with countless rock rolls and rooty chutes. Another great day on the North Shore!

Bad leg cramp near the end of the trail. Karma?

YES!
Whew! Needed the air conditioner in BC for the past few weeks but we never reached the “Planck” temperature’s seen in the UK.…yet.
I miss the bc interior temps. It gets hot but the alpine gives a good escape and its so humid here in the maratimes. Ive never sweated so much as the last couple weeks

I grew up in the maritimes. NS,NB. But BC is my paradise. Just got back from vacation in Penticton/Okanagan Falls with the Hardtails (wine tour stuff). The temperature was ok (35 +/-), but the year before was hot (42+) with fires to ride around. It was sooo dry there.

Nice! Thats comfy temps in the OK. Such a great mix of climates in the interior. Dry desert in tge okanagan. 2 hrs to revy and its sub triopical and 5-10⁰ cooler. If its still too hot its 10⁰ cooler again at the top of tge gondi. If its pouring rain in revy theres a good chance its jyst cloudy in vernon, or nakusp

I think it can get really cold during the winter (interior BC). But it’s really nice to visit in the summer. I don’t mind the rain and wet here on the Wet Coast.…we still ride…but our wardrobe is a little bigger 😳.

Summerland bottleneck drive is our annual wine tour with bikes with plenty of climbing involved from the north okanagon campground - Thornhaven is our absolute favorite sitting high above Summerland and the lake - especially bringing a fresh crusty loaf from the Summerland bakery with a nicely chilled white - and all downhill from there - Luminessence winery plays classical musical to their grapes at night (ok that was a bit of a stretch for me too) - the best case lot sales can be found in the spring before tourist season . . .early to bed tonight for an early morning start tomorrow to beat the heat before hitting Fairmont Ridge at Fairmont Hot Springs that eventually joins up at Spirit trail - lots of great biking in the Columbia Valley

There were so many RV’s and campers this year. Everything seemed booked. Great spot to vacation with lots of options. Next year we’ll hit some of the trails around Summerland. My son has a BnB in Summerland but we stay in OK Falls.

If you had wine tastings by appointment in Australia you'd go out of business real quick!

Not only appointments, but now you have to pay to taste-test their wines. 🙄. I guess the pandemic or popularity has caused some changes in the past few years.
I personally don’t understand anything about wines or beers 🤔. I never aquired a taste for distilled alcoholic beverages…I know, that’s weird eh? A tall glass of ice water is just fine.
However, my wife can tell you how many days of sunshine and the slope angle of a particular wine crop just by swirling it in a specific wine glass. I think 🤔 it’s voodoo magic or witchcraft or something …?

When I ride up to a winery, I’m more interested in the architecture of the building, then I take a picture of the main door. 😎
