That pic was on the Competitive Track Long Couse at McDowell Mtn Park. You should make the drive over if you haven’t. The Short course (3 miles) is super fun and playful (at least on an ebike

). The Long course 7+ miles) is a little bit more challenging but is also great fun. The Technical course is not much more “techy” other than two big drops, but we just didn’t find it to be as much fun overall. There are many other trails in the Park and nearby.
For comparison you’ve probably ridden the race courses at White Tank on the west side closer to you. We’ve been there once and enjoyed the tracks but not nearly as much as the McDowell competitive loops or other trails. The White Tank Comp loop around the mountain did have some entertaining challenges, but a number of features on the short Tech loop there were above our pay grades at least on a first ride. Because we only visit occasionally from SoCal we’ll probably stick with McDowell which has more trails and is more scenic. We also hope to try Hawes if we can get camping reservations nearby at Usery.
