Pic of the Day

We don't get much up here so glad of anything I had never heard of the either. Speaking of bagpipes, Red hot chilli pipers were at Speyfest last year not my cup of tea my plan was a couple of numbers but managed whole lot. They do a mean Thunderstruck LOL 😆.
I'd never heard of the Red Hot Chili Pipers before your post (Thunderstruck was awesome). Do you Scots have a lock on all of the cool culture? ;)

What kind of terrain do you ride though?
My kado's got an assegai maxxgrip exo+ up front and minion dhr2 double down maxxterra on the rear, the rears been fine tbf, 20psi front 22psi rear

Most of my trail riding is technical, off-piste, shaded woodland riding, with steep chutes, bad drainage, off camber roots etc, I know my local trails well I've rode them for over a decade and the one thing I've found with the assegai is once it picks up soft loamy mud it's packed in the tyre until you pick up enough speed to shed it, which I've found means it tends to just vaguely float over soft stuff instead of digging in and gripping. Never had an issue with the Magic Mary on the same trails and conditions, always stayed clean and shedded mud easily regardless of speed. Trails I rode in January on my analogue bike with a magic mary and big betty up front were fine, rode the same trails on the eeb in feb and march with the maxxis tyres and where I've previously had confidence in grip now I find myself unweighting the front wheel and being bashed around from where it loses grips then finds it then loses grip then finds it etc

I will say though, on faster trails when it's mostly dry or sticky they've been fine, but my ballon knot defos pinches and squeaks now riding over moist roots or through thick mud with the assegai and I never did that with the magic mary!
Fair point ..
I tend to avoid as much as possible loamy stuff ..rocky more than rooty would probably represent a lot of the riding I do + a good % of moorland XC..never had a problem with mud though ( although there are different types of mud !) ..
Tyre pressures are exactly the same 20 psi f / 22psi rear ..and I'm totally anal about checking these before every ride ☺️
Hope you dont think I was having a go at you ( although I can be a grumpy twat 😁)..it was more in defence of a tyre that has served me ( personally ) very well ..

Earlier in the week one of our local bretheren ( @philmedomsley ) asked through our whatsapp group if anyone fancied a ride out to take advantage of the gloriously unseasonal weather we were having in the North East ..brilliant blue skies and the big orange ball pushing the temperature to a mighty 14c ..unfortunately both Wayne & myself had chores to do for our respective " herindoors " and couldnt oblige .
Having also agreed to dog sit for my daughter this weekend ..I also wasnt going to get a ride in on Saturday either ..but a window of opportunity presented itself to get short ride in this morning so thats what we did ..and it was fantastic ..for a slightly different reason to earlier in the week .

A bit sick of Cacti and sand ( not jealous at all by the way 🫣) I thought you boys from So Cal and Arizona way would like to see some good North East of England snow and slop.
A great spring ride with me Marra @The Hodge. Had been a pleasant week here weather wise until we decided to ride on a Friday but hey ho there you go. Turned out be an excellent little jaunt in very testing conditions but good fun was had by all.
Thanks for the pint Neil…….still can’t get over the size of lass’s meal, didn’t know if she was going to eat it or put a flag at the top of if it 😳😳

Aren't you worried about polar bears and abdominal snowmen? 🥶

I stand corrected…………
Post edited to put the record straight 😆
Sand is sand and cacti to me are cacti no matter how big they grow. I know what one type is called and how to pronounce it so I’ve leaned something to day so it been a worthwhile day
Keep sending the pics 👍

Photo shoot /cycle up Corriehabbie hill Turned out a gruller coming down as track filled with snow. Battery was down to 12 percent so had to walk a few bits as would have needed turbo to cycle down in dèep snow . Broke our record 3.55 moving time total time 7 .48 . 23 miles 3500 feet.

I think you'd be better off with cross-country skis at that point. Make a harness to carry your bike on your back, hit dry ground swap the skis out for the bike, put the skis in the harness and off you go! You need to design the harness, sell the patent, and make a fortune. Spend some of that fortune on a private jet and you'll never have to ride in the snow again! You can do it, I have faith in you.

..while you're on with that Col ..make sure you buy some private medical insurance as the first run with that bike in the harness is sure to put your back out ..😉😂

That'll be on the end user to worry about. I'm not using it, I'm just the "idea-man". You're not using it, you're the inventor. Have some young Olympian make an advertisement for the product, let the hard-core crazy folk buy it and you use your jet to fly somewhere warm during the winter so you don't have to ride in the snow. I've already got a dodgy back, I'm certainly not risking it! Besides, I'm in the desert where the snow isn't an issue.;)

No end user here, but hey:

My days of lifting a 50lb bike over my head are coming to an end. However, one of my riding buddies is 77yrs old, can effortlessly throws our bikes in the back of his pickup truck. I can only do that with my SL Fuel. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This would do what you think 🤔. Maybe need a 20 inch rear wheel though.

The human snow plower pic was the best.

That might be worth the potential back ache! Maybe two mini skis strapped to the bikes tires in place of the ones on your feet. Just have to remember no to pedal.
Aye your picking up the jock lingo .
(no to pedal ) Be speaking about swity oxters and lugs next. Or was it a typo.
