We at Lightcarbon now sell an EMTB frame that fits DJI motors and batteries.
Components include
Frame: Teewing carbon fiber EMTB frame set
Motor: DJI Avinox M1 Drive Unit 105NM
Battery: DJI lithium battery 800Wh battery
Display: 2-inch OLED touchscreen
Charger: GaN 3x Fast Charge Charger
The frame is the same as our usual style, front travel 150-160mm, rear travel 150mm, 185*55mm trunnion mount rear shock,
The wheel set can use 27.5” or 29er wheel set or mullet wheel set,
Price: About $1,300 more expensive than our LCE930 frame including motor because of the increased cost.

I have to admire the similarity to the GT Force Mtb, I have been riding the GT Sensor Mtb and have no complaints with the design just have to comment on the similar name (Force) and design.

What's wrong with the Crestline? Frame would be manufactured in China. On a hard hitting long travel. You'd want a frame from a well proven downhill long travel supplier.

Crestline is amazing, just a pity it’s $10,500aud for the frameset.

The Chinese companies make lots of these frames for the main players anyways, DJI is a Chinese company, I’d imagine combined they could half (or more) the insane prices from the main players.

Velduro is probably the best bet at the moment, it’s $8k aud for the frameset (no shock).

Not sure what you are expecting to pay for a light-weight carbon hard hitting long travel with a DJI Motor system with high end shock included. But it's not going to be much cheaper no matter who builds it.

China build brilliant carbon frames. But quality control is the problem when buying direct from the factory in China. Especially if you are looking at the cheapest option. I don't mind skimping when you are just riding fire-roads. But frame failure when charging down a technical gravity trail can end your Mountain Biking days. And I'd assume you are looking at long travel for this usage.

It's definitely up to you. I am at heart a tight arse. But it would be like buying the cheapest parachute available. When consequences of failure are so high. You really are better off using well proven suppliers.

Anyway. That's just my train of thought.

Hey JimLee, thanks for the insight, it is interesting to hear from the manufacturer side of the sport. The Light Carbon / Teewing frame that you have available looks like it could be a great option.

Pretty tempted by this, price shipped works out about $5.5k aud.
still wish these guys could do a longer travel model :)

I’m very tempted too. I already started resurrecting my old paint scheme ideas from the last frame I almost bought from LC. Only thing holding me back really is some of the geo on the frame. I really wish it was about half a degree to a degree slacker and had another 15mm or so of travel in the back. Ideally my next build would have 170mm in the front and 160-170 in the back.

Running it mullet must change the specs a bit from the normal chart I assume? I thought most of the specs were for a 29” setup but don’t remember for sure.
 
@JimLee-Lightcarbon Do you have a geo chart available when running a mullet setup? Any other DJI based frames in the works? We’d love to see one with a little slacker with a little more travel.
 
Have we confirmed this frame is identical to the Teewing? I can’t see the OP has responded to anyone asking if it’s the same, but not said it isn’t. The only reference is he said for full bikes go to the brand (which I’m assuming is teewing). Just thought I’d confirm.
 
It will be interesting to see what JimLee comes up with, I do not know anything about him or his business but I am getting the impression that he is the "real deal". Hopefully I am correct.
 
They (Lightcarbon) have a long history of suppling framekits, so I don’t think there is any worry there :)

I noticed he edited his post, maybe he originally had a link to the Teewint site or had a pic that just looked like it. LC is the OEM for a number of pretty respectable bike companies. None of the big players, but a bunch of the smaller names out there that make respected bikes.

They’re a cut above Dengfu and some of the other cheaper players out there, that’s for sure. They use quality name brand bearings in their frames and stand behind any warranty issues from the few I’ve seen.

A few I know of based on personal experience/the paint gallery I’ve seen. I remember there being a few other names I recognized but didn’t see them when I just checked. Karbon is local to me, all their bikes use LC frames and everyone I know that’s bought from them has been happy. You can see their new “Powerline 2” is the LCE 971.

I use this calculator all the time. Its really handy. Just enter the geo and change wheel size or fork travel (or both) and it'll show the results.

That's awesome, didn't know it existed. Looks like it would slacken the HA to 63.7 by using a 27.5" rear wheel. Going up to a 170mm fork changes it .4 degrees, the mullet wheel setup changes it .8. Either one would slacken it a bit, I've been wanting to try a mullet bike, not sure if I'd actually prefer it over my current 29" setup or not. I do a lot of tight stuff that would benefit from the better turning ability, but I also drive over a ton of large rocks on all my trails that the rollover of the 29" is helpful for.
 
If Lightcarbon is using their LCE930 frame it has a different geo from Teewing. Reach is different and so is chain stay length.
 
Well, the Teewing frame is made by LightCarbon seems, so Teewing is using a LightCarbon frame, not the other way around.

I emailed Jim for some more details because I’m very interested in it, I may be building myself a new bike this winter…
